I've been re-progging through UCoB recently and am quickly realizing that going from level 80 to 70 is already debilitating for many jobs. In Endwalker, it will only increase when we go from level 90 to 70 inside the Stormblood Ultimates. Jobs will feel substantially more awful, similar to how they feel in the Alexander normal raids or Void Ark alliance raids right now.

The solution is to embrace change and port the Unreal system to the current and future Ultimates. Ultimates already contain many similarities to Unreal trials. The only significant difference would be in the playtesting phase of development. Syncing Ultimates to the current max level would require slightly more testing than an Extreme trial would.

And regarding the opinion that keeping the Ultimates level synced preserves their original difficulty and aids in not completely trivializing them. At the same time, I understand the concern; however, syncing the old Ultimates to the current max level would achieve this. Every expansion when we get class reworks, changes, new jobs, etc., the Ultimates change in feel. The addition of Gunbreaker and Dancer, alongside new gear that allows us to maximize our sub-stats, trivialized the damage checks and mitigation checks. Comparing The Weapon's Refrain in patches 5.3 and 5.4, the addition of new food/pots made the fight's damage and healing checks significantly more manageable. While this would still be somewhat of a problem with syncing up to the max level, new food/pots would lessen the impact. The gained vitality at item level 375 while using item level 510 food is significant, where at item level 435, it's less effective.
