Beards, BIG BEARDS.. Please.

When most people request beards its for the stubble variety which Yoshi has addressed before. In short there are some technical challenges in making stubble look good on all the different facial types; they'd almost have to do a beard for each facial type and they don't really have the back end space for all of that.

I'd imagine the database space limitations they're working under would apply to big beards as well but it would probably be easier to do a "one size fits all" beard with a big beard.

But I suspect this is way down on their priority list; its been an oft requested feature since HW and the devs know of it yet nothing has happened.

Considering there's a "helmet" that's just a big beard... I call foul that they couldn't implement it.

Implementing it so it attaches to the character's face and moves with their facial expressions is going to be a very different business to sticking a static "fake beard" to the front of the face.

I think that's why it only gets implemented as a face setting option (unique to the individual build) and not even attached to hairstyles.

More customization in general. More open customization, meaning - wearing lipstick, blush and eyeshadow with a face sticker at the same time- and not one or the other.
Beards definitely, maybe just for the more humanoid races like Elezen and Hyur. Don't think Au'ra male can have facial hair, can they? I've never looked. If so, they don't seem a beardy/facial hair type but I also do not like Au'ra so I'm biased.
Chest and body hair- like, seriously. I guess the WoL is a fan of waxing?
More hairstyle variants and diversity- hell, a new hairstyle design contest would really help (I hope, assuming that not every new hairstyle is just a slight variation of what we are dealing with now). Right now, every hairstyle is either a hime bang/anime protag, toddler looking side ponytail/pigtail or a mullet. Or a combo of all of them at once.
Some shading on the models- like the detailed look of the FFXII characters if that makes sense?
In FFXIV every character complexion is so flat looking, with 1 base complexion, dull white bread- even if you choose a darker option- it's dull.

Au Ra scales seem to replace beards - covering the same bits of the face, and "realistically" hair and scales are both made of the same basic stuff.

Yeah all the customizations like scars are no racial thing yet they had to spread it accross all the races because of the limitations or lack of time. Even beards are in "parts" in the Hyur/Elezen/Roe faces, if you fuse some of them you get a full beard closer to the subtle everyone asks for.
