The biggest issue people have is assuming. Never assume. Stop assuming! It does nothing for you nor the company! In any capacity!

They're going to do it though, especially in a game like this that is built around routine and repetition.

You can call it an "issue" if you like, but it's not going to change the fact that it'll happen, and SE knows it'll happen. This isn't their first year running a MMO.

At any time, SE can change anything in any aspect of the game or ToS whenever they want.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean it'll be liked, respected, or something you *should* do.

This is not white knighting, this is literally telling people to stop assuming and stomping their feet because they didn't take it upon themselves to read something that SE did what they could to inform people about.

Seriously, I feel like I'm at work right now trying to explain something this basic to people in a thread on the forums started by a known troll.

Tl;dr they did plenty to inform people - if you all don't know how to read or make the effort to look at the event page, that's entirely on you and you alone. Quit blaming other people or companies for your own incompetence.

NO NO NO!! The markets are shaping up and this would only disrupt the market! If you can't be bothered to read then treat this is as a learning lesson moving forward. The fact that so many of you lack attention to detail and try to make excuses for it is disturbing. This game could have the notice on screen AT ALL TIMES when you play this game; dead smack center to the point of obscuring your character and people would still complain about not seeing it. NO!!

It means we disagree with your points and will (or rather in my case, have) explain why. Some people are too prideful to admit that they made a mistake which, in their eyes, means it could never, ever possibly be their fault. That's really what it boils down to. I also think they are confusing the truth with a complete lack of empathy, even though some has been shown alongside the facts.

Honestly, despite what my first post in this thread would suggest, I'm not against the idea of them either bringing it back for those who missed out or something. But the fact remains: They were very, very clear. If you knew about the event, it's up to you to go to the page and check out the details of it - like you do when you want to check out what the event is going to bring to the table. If you had the time to figure out what items you wanted to get, what you thought looked nice, etc etc - then you had time to read the BRIGHT RED BOX that said "Hey, spend your moogle tomestones asap, they're not coming back."

What else could they have done? Flashed it big, bright, and red on your game screen every ten minutes?

Exactly! I'm not against the idea of them opening the vendor back up, at least temporarily. There would have been nothing wrong at all with a grace period. But like you, me and a lot of other people have said...they weren't vague on the details. None of that seems to matter though to some. We are just toxic and unhelpful, apparently. I will admit to being in a bit of a bad mood at the start though. lol

So if you missed the deadline, then just hold on to them and try to read the event details next time.

you know what's toxic? being selfish, entitled and arrogant and talking down to others when they don't tell you what you want to hear, or, gasp, disagree with you in a forum!
