I play Red Mage the majority of the time just because it feels really good to me without being something I need to go 100% on all the time. I like SAM and AST as well but find that with those jobs I kind of burn out quickly because of the attention they require. They're still fun to me but more in short bursts. With Red Mage I can just get in the flow of actually playing it without focusing too hard.

I also love the versatility of literally having the ability to save runs when the crap really hits the fan. It doesn't happen often but being forced into emergency mode and seeing everything get back on track, or at least keeping things afloat long enough to get a boss down, pretty much solely because of your efforts is a real nice adrenaline rush.

I've actively played all the tanks during ShB, but I like to stick to one at a time UNTIL I get the tank mount achievements, then it's onto the next one. I am fairly close to my DRK battle panther, then I'll kill Garuda 300 times and switch to PLD, until I get that mount. It'd be cool if they add some new tank mount achievements in EW. I'd LOVE if they'd do some healer mount achievements.

I don't. I have change with every expansion (SMN, SCH, DRK, MCH) and plan on changing with EW (not sure what to yet though). I always end up bored after spending 2 years playing a job.

For me personally, I began playing a Monk in beta, and loved it so much that I haven't switched since then.

Monk feels to me like the most engaging and challenging DPS job, and i get to punch and kick stuff- so that aspect brings out my inner child of when I watched Karate Kid or Bruce Lee movies

Plus I occasionally get to be the tank in a dungeon when the actual tank dies, it doesn't happen often, but when it does... it's so much fun.

The only thing that sometimes makes me look at another job, is when I see a Paladin, Warrior, Samurai or a Dragoon's Relic weapon, then for a brief moment, I'm like that meme where a guy walking with his girlfriend looks at the other girl walking by.

I've mained SCH since 2.2, and it's certainly gone through a lot of changes. While I have been disappointed with the direction it's taken, it's still my favourite of the healers. Love the lore, too.

I have all jobs to 80 and also frequently play machinist and warrior, but scholar is special to me still.

    Curios about sage though...!

I love WHM and RDM and it's going to take something special to make me change. I'm looking forward to Sage so we'll see how that goes. I have all jobs leveled but rarely play most of them after I level them.

Good way to bring new tanks and healers, a lot of ppl fear it and don't even try. I really hope tanking becomes less boring tho.

I generally play MNK in PvP, since I like how it plays there.

For PvE, I play as DRK or RDM.

I make it a point to read the level cap on every job each time a new expansion comes around, but that's mostly for the sake of the achievement and unlocking glamour.

I'll consider switching to Reaper in 6.0 as I like the aesthetics quite a bit and I've desired a darker/grittier job in this game for a while now.

BLM, it's a very versatile and potent caster and I like the dark aesthetic of its outfits and the sheer power of its spells. I'm used to its need to balance usage of its mobility tools to either leverage them for more damage or achieve higher uptime now, as well as the turreting and slidecasting, and I go for a higher SPS build, but I will still usually take SMN for a first run of a fight. I'm really hoping we see some (more) darkness-themed spells for BLM come 6.0.

I haven't been able to complain much about BLM weapons though this expansion as they've been almost universally great (<cough> Bozja final stage </cough>), especially the Augmented Law's Order, with the Zodiark theming running through it. Law's Order caster set plus that both look fairly epic. Hope BLM AF is a bit more stylish than the 5.0 one.

It's also way better than it used to be in FL, with the only improvement I'd now make being to reform AM to work like the NIN and SAM teleports. Really fun blowing up everything with Flares and Fouls, or the occasional double Xeno.

I also enjoy SMN in PVE, particularly during its Trances, and when it manifests the sigil using Revelation, plus Deathflare and Akh Morn feel great too. Don't care for it much in PVP since it doesn't feel much like a SMN.

RDM is, alas, the caster I play least, even if I like the look of a lot of its outfits and weapons. Just isn't as much fun to me as the other two.

For healing, usually go with WHM or AST, but I don't do it much - they're both good in FL, and they look great with the Cryptlurker outfit, giving a slight Ascian aesthetic. I'll no doubt add Sage to that list if I like it enough, maybe even enough to use it in content that isn't just DF trials or dungeons.

DRK for tanking - not a role I care for much, but of all the tanks I like it best, again for the fact that it uses darkness and looks good in the Shadowless glams, as well as its own AF sets and some of the Eden ones.

I'll probably play DRG and Reaper occasionally in 6.0. I've always liked Maiming sets best of the melee ones aesthetically, and Reaper draws on void/darkness magic, so it's a good fit. SAM used to be the melee dps I'd play, but it's never been much of an attachment.

BLM just ticks all the right boxes, and SMN ticks most. The rest are just for a bit of variety. That helps me stick to BLM and secondarily SMN. One day (maybe in 7.0) I hope BLM will get a SPS focused brother in arms.
