It's very easy to overlook the time component. I did get burned on this once but on a seasonal event. At least missing that was only mildly irritating unlike this one where people farmed hundreds of tomes.
So according to you, overlooking something means they mislead you? Its unfortunate and I hope people can redeem the tokens at the next moogle event but to say SE mislead someone is simply untrue.
They've never reopened the shop to let you spend past tomes. It stays up past the close of the earning period but it's never let you redeem completely expired tomes except for a lifetime supply of yellow star prisms.
The next event will bring a new type of tome and will not have an option to spend Pageantry.
I would still say hold onto the tokens for now, though, in case the outcry is large enough and they do reopen it briefly outside of the proper schedule.
There is, actually - it was a special event for Fan Fest and it seems to have been treated as something outside of their normal cycle of moogle tomes. Even the prize list felt off compared to the usual offering: repeating the first two wolf mounts (including one just recently available), not giving the usual access to beast tribe mounts, an emphasis on an odd mix of items (some of them easy crafting recipes or purchasable) that came clear when you realised they're all fan-created content from past contests.

Nope. When the third moogle tomestone event ran they started letting you redeem the previous run's tomestones. Just this past run of it they let you redeem ANY moogle tome.
It seemed normal to me. I didn't attach it to fanfest. I thought the rewards were similar to the rest. It's fine that you didn't see it the way I did, but there's no point in arguing with someone who already said "I know it's my fault." Really not understanding the hostility towards people just asking. Really weird to me. :/There is, actually - it was a special event for Fan Fest and it seems to have been treated as something outside of their normal cycle of moogle tomes. Anyhow, that's my last post for this thread. I hope they reopen it. It is what it is if it's not. I hope we can all be a little more understanding towards one another. See you all in game![]()

If you're talking about the "redeem any past tomes for yellow star prisms" then yes, that's always been there. If there was something else, it was completely unadvertised and I missed seeing it.
As far as I was aware, the moogle during the event period was trading for Pageantry (current event) and Esoterics (immediate past event) for their advertised prizes and any older tomes for stars only.
Beyond that, as far as I've observed, the moogle is ALWAYS there, active event or not, and always trading for the past two rounds of prizes plus stars.
I'm not trying to be hostile, just pointing out that it was different from the start whether you noticed or not.It seemed normal to me. I didn't attach it to fanfest. I'm pretty sure it was also announced alongside all the Fan Fest events and it had a special logo compared to what it normally has from memory.
