It's unfortunate that they didn't give this one a grace period as their event schedule is very misleading in the US. Ends on the 14th! Noooo... ends before half the country is awake and the other is at work.
They take the event down at the same time across all servers. 7:59 am pdt happens to be 11:59pm in Japan, so the event is actually ending at the tail end of the day for their local playerbase. As a rule of thumb, always assume the event ends a day early so you have a full day available to complete an event and get items off the npcs.
