edit: Actually, Noct is the confirmed sacrificial lamb. I'd look to all the special Noct effects that are going away as an indicator as to what the Sage kit might look like.

To be fair, I never liked Noct. If I was ever paired with a WHM I'd ask if I could swap to Scholar. Diurnal performs very well. It has good potency and the regens work with our lack of oGCD heals (in comparison to the others), but Noct has felt like Great Value Scholar for a very long time.

As an AST main, this image sums up my feelings perfectly.

They didn't confirm it was noct, but since they'll remove ASTs entire shielding kit while simultaneously announcing the new healer will be a shielder like SCH, it's rather obvious to assume.
I don't really mind as long as it's not a direct copy paste tbh, always liked noct more than WHM 2.0

I'd expect that what we'll get is something like "Nocturnal Opposition", mirroring WHM's Divine Benison, and that that will be the sum total of AST's shielding ability.
