Actually it's pretty easy to tell without a parser just by observing other players, debuffs on the boss and how long a duty is taking.

It's normal paying attention you say but you also just admitted to being unable to tell when someone is underperforming? Mmh...
Something that's useful is parsing and putting your numbers through xivanalysis to figure out what's going on and what to work on.

I cant tell number by number no! Of course not!![]()
Normal environmental awareness, absolutely yes!
This seems like something that may keep the community quite divided if parsing is so important for progression...
It's vital for min-maxing, which is one of the main appeal of harder content, and punishing people for using ACT in an innocent and positive manner would just kill the raiding scene, most of the negativity towards it comes from either people who don't want to be held accountable for slacking or people who are afraid of the toxicity it might bring in easier content.

Yeah, absolutely. This already has been happening to WoW where the casual players have been completely deterred from doing normal content latest years and now look where the game is.
The addon does sound it has its usefulness if used with precaution in a progressive team to get the stuff you need.
Such a pity its in a such sensitive grey zone of the game where it has its good but absolutely against ToS. Leaving the players to risk and wonder if its worth it. Gameplay wise? Absolutely, if snitched on...Then its game over. :S
There is nothing wrong about being exclusive and wanting only to play with the best players you can find. I personally don't do any of the savage or extreme content, but it's 100% understandable why someone would want to be exclusive so they can finish the content faster instead of carrying someone who underperforms, and that is why parsing is important, so you don't waste your time on the player that drags down the entire raid.
Exactly, solid players will only want to play with solid players to do raids. When you have someone who out classes the other players, he/she will likely get toxic and leave the group. There is nothing wrong about being exclusive and wanting only to play with the best players you can find. A better question for Naaura is why should I go with Casual/Midcore players to do raids? This is an online game and everyone wants something they want to do. Me? I want to do raids but I want to be with quality players like I am right now and they will call out people slacking on their role. I want to work with people on equal grounds, not carry the group DPS. I want to week 1 new Savage raids and kill Ultimates as fast as possible and I can't do it with people not willing to play their jobs the best it can go. Parsing exist to divide the quality level of raiders and keep balance in the raiding groups. Casual, Mid core, Semi-Hardcore, Hardcore. Hardcore groups will kick players who can't follow the groups expectations, I'm sorry no one likes carrying players for raid wins.
