XBox Controller Suddenly Doesn't Work

I was here yesterday trying to find help for a friend who's Switch controller wasn't working, but we fixed that so yay.

Now, for MONTHS (years probly) I've been using my various XBox controllers to play FF14 via Steam with zero issues. It was working perfectly right up until I went to bed last night. Today I go to get on and it's not working at all.

It works on other games just fine. FF14's system config SEES the controller is connected, but even if I go into calibration it picks up absolutely no inputs. I've tried disabling and re-enabling the gamepad about a dozen times. I've tried checking Steam's controller config support options or whatever and those are all actively turned on. There's no clear reason this should be happening.

What's going on???
