Obvious troll topic, but it's really sad to see how many people on this community can't enjoy the game without constantly thinking about WoW and wanting to bring WoW people to play this game.
Maybe you guys should go play WoW.

What if I told you I play both and have for years?
This situation will make the FFXIV communities true colors come out. Please look forward to it![]()
Good for you. You should. They are both great games for very different reasons.
What you should not do is force other people to play the games you like just to validate your own opinion. Which is what I see a lot of people in these forums do taking the "Have you played FFXIV" meme seriously.
That's extraordinarily off-topic.
Unless I'm missing something?
The only one likely to try forcing others to follow their lead would be a streamer like Asmon.

Asmon trying out FFXIV is very important to WoW players but not FFXIV players. FFXIV is doing just fine on its own, it doesn't need his promotion.
It's important to WoW players because frankly Asmon wouldn't even vaguely entertain the idea of playing FFXIV if retail WoW was in a good state.
It has been more than half a year since the expansion launch. Not only are players very unhappy with the super restrictive systems that punish players for wanting to play as more than one spec or class, or do more than one type of combat, 9.1 still hasn't been released and there isn't even a date for it yet. To top it off the previous expansion also wasn't well received and some of the systems players hated from it reappeared in the current expansion just under a different name. Player feedback has been repeatedly ignored for years and this is the result. A game that many die-hard WoW fans no longer want to play. Things are looking very very grim for WoW right now. Asmon adores WoW, so much that his entire career is centered around it. But he has been very unhappy with the road Blizzard have chosen to take for the past few years. That Asmon is going to try out WoW's main competitor, even though he dislikes the game's aesthetic and has dismissively called it a "weeb" game many times, speaks volumes as to how woeful the state of retail WoW is.
I don't think Asmon will enjoy FFXIV. ARR is already slow for patient players never mind for a player like him who highly values action. He has repeatedly said he isn't a fan of stories and that's one of the major core features of FFXIV. He is turned off by the miqos and viera (though I think that is him assuming they're just uwu anime girls). The class he is interested in playing can only be accessible after getting to HW. That class is a tank and he typically plays dps. Classes don't get interesting until higher lvls so he is going to find the gcd excruciatingly slow due to not having ogcds to fill in that space. Anyone who is making bets that he will enjoy FFXIV have the odds stacked against them. He is the one player I would advise to use boosts because of what he wants from a game. ARR isn't going to give him that.
Asmon trying out FFXIV should be taken as a statement about WoW. Even if he quits in ten minutes it should be. As I said he would never even think about it if WoW was in a good state. And he is far from the only high profile WoW content creator to try out the game. Some even love it. Blizzard should be very worried.
Disclaimer: I don't enjoy seeing WoW in this awful state. It's even worse than it was when I quit and I thought that was bad. I played that game for over a decade because for much of that time it was a great game. I would love to see WoW be great again but Blizzard clearly got too comfortable on their throne. Hopefully FFXIV's popularity among their own playerbase will give them the kick up the butt they need to develop good content and finally bloody listen to players. And yes I did try out Shadowlands and I left it because I didn't fancy interacting with systems that gave me little other than frustration or boredom.
but these are not MPK's alts, no? these are all titanmen alts
what's funny to me is all the people upvoting them as if they were genuine posters - and probably think they're genuine posters![]()
Yep, exactly this. I don't like the guy, never really have, but it's not really about him. It's about the message he's sending. Blizzard should be very concerned, though I think it's if/when Taliesen and Evitel turn against them that they should start sounding the alarms. I've never seen such loyal supporters as them. They seem to spin every misstep on behalf of the company and/or dev team into something positive. I'd wager some of that is because Blizzard supports them directly, but they genuinely seem to love the game regardless of what happens. Like I said though, if that were to change...it'd be quite a plot twist. I will definitely be keeping my eye on their videos a bit more closely. The other shoe is going to drop. Asmongold has made that very clear. I just don't know who, what or where that will be. I've got a feeling though that the reckoning I've been hoping for is on the horizon. Things will either get worse before they get better, or they will just get worse. Time will tell. I'm obviously hoping that things get better but I'm not expecting it.Asmon trying out FFXIV is very important to WoW players but not FFXIV players.
