The great streamer Asmongold is joining FFXIV

My take on Asmongold coming is this: Firstly, everyone, regardless of who they are, is entitled to their opinion. It doesn't make it right but opinions are rarely ever right if we're being fair here. Secondly, I have played WoW. It was a short stint and I have people I am friends with that play it still. I know that the devs have used it as a basis from which to base some of their development process off of. So Blizzard had to get something right, even if the game is decades old.

Now I do not follow the man. Most of anything I've seen is piece-meal from YouTube and while I don't care for his overall attitude in some instances I am sure he may be right as long as he has his long time gaming opinion aimed in the right direction. Not the "Let's burn it down! It's killing WoW!" mob screaming in his ears. BelluarGaming actually said it best on his YouTube channel. Asmongold shouldn't stream XIV. He should play it on his own, no sideline, get into a FC and play with other XIV players and not tell anyone who he is and then give his thoughts on the game. That way it will be fair to him and the game. That's my two cents on the matter.

Second FC i was in i got a warning because i was talking about sex in FC chat, and i specifically asked before joining that if people are not like kids there. Everyone was over 20, but it seems talking about squats and how it does good for your blood circulation on the loin area and improves sex life is too much info.

I would have asked you to stop going on about this as well if you were saying this in my FC. This is information that I don't need to or care to know.

Conversation took like 2 mins. It wasn't like suspended one hour talk about the thing. I came home from my gym, and mentioned "squats done!" other guy replied he also did them and that his legs hurt so much. I told him to bear with it that you know man it does wonders for your sex life. Improves blood circulation. That's it. Does that sound unreasonable to you?

If this is the conversation, while I still think the comment unwarranted, it's less of an issue than how you initially described it initially.

I was speaking with other fc member, who also goes to the gym. Why should i care about what you need to know? This kind of bubble thing is what i'm talking about. This is kind of dictatorship that you get to decide what hobby is ok to talk about sounds really immature.

If people are uncomfortable with the topic in public, you're free to take it to private. Keep that in mind. Just because people aren't children doesn't mean they're comfortable with that discussion. Make a linkshell for that purpose if you feel the need to have a group to talk to about it.

edit: got daily post locked which is a sign that i took my melatonin at the right time, but without full context it's hard to judge properly. if this is exactly how it went down I don't think you're fully unreasonable, but it's also not my space, so I can't judge fully, y'know? Just giving a suggestion for making your own space for your purpose of talk

This game has the highest concentration of players who are uncomfortable with this and that topic, that I have ever seen. It's what makes it so unwelcoming to anyone who is actually trying to get to know people. Anything that isn't game related or "what a tough day at work" or "this what I'm eating right now" is met with your response. Go talk about it somewhere else, make a linkshell, etc. It leads to the community being divided into small cliques, solo free companies and players having to walk on eggshells when talking to anyone.

In that case, instead of broadcasting it in the public channel, why not take it to private messages? The game itself is not an adult exclusive game. And even if the FC is made up of all adults - that doesn't mean they don't have children at home who come in and see their screens. Those people may prefer the chat to stay in more 'PG' areas.

Oh, no, that's not at all overly much. But then again, people are.. people and some will be way one extreme or another.
