The offices of the East Aldenard Trading Company in Kugane are warded against eavesdropping via thaumaturgy; presumably Lolorito hired the Thaumaturge's Guild for that job.
We as players simply don't see the various uses of all the schools of magic, due to game mechanical (and game design) constraints.
Honestly, I wouldn't be mad if they dedicated a whole chapter in an Encyclopaedia 3 just to world-build magick - theory and application.


Same here. I would love a beefy segment in the next lorebook about how various aether-related stuff can be used for everyday use, and how aether manipulation is used for the non-combat stuff that they can't code into the game.
