PS5 version VS PS4 Backwards compatible version?

PS5 version is better than many people's PCs. 4k is also delicious.

Still doesn't change the fact it's performance in terms of frame rate is bad in both 1400p and 1080p. It's not just Limsa but most opened area will have frames dropped for no reason. The PS5 version should have stayed in beta. That being said you can run the PS4 and get consistent 60fps in both modes and load slightly slower than PS5 version.
Don't think instanced zones suffer from frame rate drops.

Yeah, the fps drops in full 4k on PS5 are pretty bad. Playable, sure, but I like my juicy framerates. I have a 4k TV and one would think it would run better than it does. The middle ground, UHD I believe its called, provides the best of both worlds but even then there's still some fps drops depending on the location, some worse than others. I think it needs optimized a bit better. There's no way it was ever ready to leave beta. The PS4 Pro optimization worked so much better.

I think all of us who were lucky enough to get the PS5, played backwards compact then switched to PS5 version already knew this, though it was nice to have the metrics done by a credible source. IMO it was taken out of beta too soon probably a decision from the higher-ups since the PS5 version was "good enough" and a month later we got the "full" PS5 version. It needed more development time to optimize especially with the odd frame jittering in specific endgame content like zadnor and 24-mans. Sadly after seeing the video I'm heavily considering going back to the PS4 version because I'm already at my tipping point and 1080P looks good and feels great while 1440p looks nearly the same but feels terrible. Obviously this will be optimized in the future but probably take notes on not to rush a game to market, especially in the current industry, where that seems to be the norm.

Yeah, all these people talking about how great/wonderful the PS5 version runs are either blind, lying, or genuinely have vision issues. Vision issues doesn't mean you're dumb, I'm insulting you, or that your eyes don't work, but I've met plenty of people that swear they absolutely, genuinely cannot spot differences in framerates. It's hard for those of us that can see it to comprehend that they cannot, and it's hard for them to understand what we're talking about since they apparently literally cannot see it. I'm so sensitive to framerates that I can practically count them within 1-2 frames and have taken part in studies concerning the matter. The drops in the PS5 version are not minor either. Those of you that can't see it or tell should consider yourselves lucky because losing twenty or more frames while standing in a corner looking at a rock wall is bothersome and unacceptable.

Yep, what me worries me is that I think Yoshida didn't understand what people were complaining about PS5 version. At the fanfest he touched this briefly and honestly what he said didn't make too much sense (That people were saying that PS4 was faster and then he assured the PS5 version was better for 4k)...

PS4 version has a better frame rate on backward compatibility. Even on the balanced graphics option on PS5, there is significant slow down in some areas such as CLL that is simply not present when running the PS4 BC version. The only advantage the PS5 version has is faster load times when loading into zones.

Pretty much this, i have been very frustrated by how much ps4 BC is better than the actual PS5. It feels very non optimized. This was never the issue on PS4 except Eureka for some moments, on PS5 i feel everything is just worse....
I am staying at ps4 BC for the foreseeable future, hope they fix it on endwalker...

Are you guys sure it's not your monitors? I've never had any of these issues come up. I use the same tv for my PS5 that I was using the PS4 on.
