PS5 version VS PS4 Backwards compatible version?

Digital Foundry did a comparison of various versions of FFXIV and found the native PS5 version to perform worse than the PS4 version running on the PS5.

I think all of us who were lucky enough to get the PS5, played backwards compact then switched to PS5 version already knew this, though it was nice to have the metrics done by a credible source. IMO it was taken out of beta too soon probably a decision from the higher-ups since the PS5 version was "good enough" and a month later we got the "full" PS5 version. It needed more development time to optimize especially with the odd frame jittering in specific endgame content like zadnor and 24-mans. Sadly after seeing the video I'm heavily considering going back to the PS4 version because I'm already at my tipping point and 1080P looks good and feels great while 1440p looks nearly the same but feels terrible. Obviously this will be optimized in the future but probably take notes on not to rush a game to market, especially in the current industry, where that seems to be the norm.
