PS5 version VS PS4 Backwards compatible version?

Ok so now the beta has been over for a bit I'm getting a PS5 within the week.

Ive heard that the PS5 version has some performance problems and some are saying it runs as bad as or barely better than on PS4?

As im upgrading from a base PS4 which option is best for performance? Are the PS5 versions FPS issues as bad as some are reporting or not?

Just curious as to what version will give me the best experience. All feedback is greatly appreciated and thank you in advance!

I have it on PS5 and have had nothing but amazing performance and great load times.

I have it on PC and then switched to PS5 my hubby on PS5 also and it runs so well. And it is fast

I have the ps5 version, I prefer pc so I play on pc instead but loading times is impressive.
However playing on pc with a ssd will make them on par also so it not that impressive but compared to PS4 version its night and day.

I had to go back to PS4 last week as my PS5 was otherwise occupied.
Never again, I've been spoiled, PS4 is potato.

PS4 version has a better frame rate on backward compatibility. Even on the balanced graphics option on PS5, there is significant slow down in some areas such as CLL that is simply not present when running the PS4 BC version. The only advantage the PS5 version has is faster load times when loading into zones.

PS5 has been great for me and loading times has been greatly improved.

Just remember to save UI settings on the PS4 versionso you can import it to the PS5 version, that way you don't have to go through the headache of fixing the settings again.

My only gripe is that all of my achievements didn't carry over to the new version, I'm not an achievement hoarder by any means, its just that there a slight annoyance to look at when I look at it.

Graphics and loading speed are great. FPS is very good, only location you notice slightly lower FPS is at the crystal in Limsa during peak time at my high population server but not a big deal, everywhere else is quite fine.

And love it in 4K!

PS5 version is better than many people's PCs. 4k is also delicious.
