Legacy Chocobo

EDIT: I understand what the Legacy chocobo means to those that have it, im not so much asking for that specific mount with beak tattoo and all but simple a way to get closer to the traditional chocobo look. I love the simple armour barding that doesnt cover the wings and the longer tail feathers and the legacy bo has both of those things so it fits the bill (the beak?) of the desire. I DON'T want the ACTUAL Legacy chocobo, I want something close to it in appearance. It's like people owning a 66 chevvy, i don't want a 66 chevvy but i'd love a 67 chevvy

First off let me say I understand this mount is for Legacy players much like the other items and Tattoo and I'm not trying to upset anyone with this post so if i do i'm genuinely sorry!

I'm wondering if Yoshi has ever indicated or ever been asked about the possibility of bringing the Legacy Chocobo to the US/EU mooglestore? The reason I ask is because it's on the Korean and Chinese stores to purchase and while I get that they never had 1.0 so it makes sense to let folks buy those items im just wondering if we'd ever see it on our stores.



I've been a player since very close to launch and boy do i kick myself every time i think of how i should have subbed in 1.0. The interesting thing is i NEVER see people riding the Legacy chocobo though so I'm genuinely curious about peoples (especially any legacy players still playing) thoughts on allowing non legacy players to purchase this mount and only this mount, I know the tattoo is very highly coveted and with good reason but the Chocobo seems to have been forgotten in favour of the flashier mounts in the game.

Personally i think the Legacy Chocobo is the coolest, best looking mount in the history of the game. I've thought this ever since I started playing and even though I have mounts you can no longer get in game I always wish I had that one Chocobo from the CGI trailer.

I brought it up on reddit and immediately got roasted and downvoted so I clearly upset people there by even asking about this sort of thing so please let me reiterate that i'm not trying to upset any Legacy players who believe they should be the only ones to have this mount, in fact Id love to hear their thoughts on this too!

No. It was a reward for supporting the game when it was garbage, for those fans dedicated to it.

It's my 2nd most used mount behind the trashcan, which I just love for some reason.

There are over 100 mounts in the game now. Find a different one

You could get a dataserver transfer to JP, then VPN in via China, buy the chocobo using crysta purchased ahead of time, and then transfer back once the lockdown period has passed?

The Chinese and Korean versions are completely separate, and published by local companies who basically run the game themselves, and just get patches and such from SE.

I'm not a "Legacy" player, but let them have what they were promised. It's not cool to say "We will give you these exclusive things," and then turn your back on them and sell those things to others. It removes the specialness of those things, and when you see them in-game it doesn't mean anything if anybody can just buy it.

If more people subbed to 1.0 we might never have gotten ARR, so perhaps it's good that you didn't.

They went through that hellfire, they deserve an exclusive mount. So no, I don't think it should be in the US/EU cashshop.

No they should not start adding them on the store or anywhere. I am a legacy player and the items we got where a thank you for playing. Also they where part of our story.

The game is now here because we begged for them not to switch it off and said it could work. We where thanked and we also supported by paying.

I remember years back when I used to play FFXI and I saw rare items on players I asked and they told me they had done certain things and played a long time. I did not want to take that away.

As a legacy player: sure sell them.

But it would be wrong to just sell the chocobo and the gobbue (yes, in 1.x WE also got a gobbue).
There should be a whole little storyline you could buy. Reliving the final days and beating Neal van Darnus. Coil is very different. After you relive all the old tales with Louisoix, you could unlock the chocobo.

Yoshi-P gave us way more than those two mounts. Next to the tattoo there is a cheaper subscription. We get a 8 character account by the price of 1 (I only use one). Furthermore if you meet him in person he is so nice and thankful for the old players. Lastly my name is in the ARR credits.

So even without mounts we get the appreciation.
