the things here, that start to boggin me is that there seems to have maintenance over maintenance. Every week there is an Emergency maintenance. They havent fixed all isues with patch 1.21 and now its seems to be a tradition to have a 10-11 hours maintenance after every upgrade. Make sure the product is playable when you realese a new Patch SE

Why don't you finish work and exercise before you play video games? Sounds like you have bad habits

Emergency Maintenance = Emergency Maintenance...what, do you think 911 is there for your scheduled accidents and murders?

Well I know Square Enix is trying their hardest but seriously?! Another 5 hours for them to do this? I like to stick with one game and I had just started playing again. Square Enix have lost a hell of a lot of their customers already for it to take them approx. 12 hours for the servers to be back up and running. I wouldn't of thought a minor problem like this to fix would take 5 Hours. Don't get me wrong guys I am a pretty patient person overall but another 5 hours and I don't even think its a minor problem when they put the time in Final Fantasy XIV game right before it got disconnected. Any of the MMORPGs I have been on take 2-3 hours at the most for a minor bug like this to fix. On top of that SE is a huge corporation so 5 hours for a bug fix like this should not take 5 hours.

You guys know they have been setting this trend since XI right?

When you talk about post-patch, it's not about whether there's gonna be a maintenance of not. It's about when it will be and how long! Come on people, this shouldn't be a surprise lol

Maybe making my post in BOLD will make my point more valid!

But no, seriously people, this stuff happens =/ the patch was rushed to keep up with schedule and to hit before Golden week, something like this was bound to happen... Just relax, take a nap (like I will!) and catch up with your other IRL stuff, and you'll be back and complaining about other stuff in no time!

My friend, if SE lost customers due to downtime for updates, I'd hate to see the empty MMOs that have maintenance that lasts ALL DAY.

You know absolutely nothing about this field of work. It doesn't take 5 hours for a bug fix, most of the time is messing around with server hardware and software including rebooting and resynchronization which CAN be a lengthy process, especially since they need to TEST the fix as well lol.

C'mon now, some people act like you'll die without a video game.

I did not post this thread to discuss what people do with their life outside of FFXIV, nor did I post to discredit what the current Dev Team is trying to make of this game. The point was to express the discontent with the constant inability to play a game we (the players) are paying a monthly subscription for due to releasing content that is not stable or properly prepared to be released. I fully appreciate the work that has been put into this game. I have seen where it began and how far it has come along. However, having a magnitude of unscheduled down time affects the opinion of the masses towards SE's capability to continue building this game.

You must never have played any other MMO's before, I have seen other games go down unexpectedly after a big patch. Its not worth throwing a huge fit over. Don't forget, if this is a large enough problem for you no one is "forcing" you to continue to play. We all pretty much know this is basically a pay to play beta until 2.0 comes around. Just wait till then if its that much of an inconvenience for you.
