NA black fat chocobo was from an Amazon promotion. I'm pretty sure putting black fat chocobo codes on amazon for EU isn't that hard.

That's not how it works, they need to comply to every country law in EU/PAL regions. I'm EU and I'm also frustrated about this but these things takes time.
It will happen eventually or end up in the mogstation.

NA is currently having the Chocorpokkur event.
Both JP and NA had the Fat Black Chocobo event.

We have yet to hear any word about either for EU. Are we so forsaken that our only solution is to breach ToS and buy one of those Chocorpokkur code off of ebay??
You should really look into banning those guy too, like one of them made a month worth of salary off your codes.

Make friends with somoene who lives in NA that hasn't submitted a request for a code yet? I know several NA players who didn't want the mount but still got their codes then gave them to friends who live outside of NA.

It's a lot harder to do a promotion in EU than NA because there's still a myriad of local laws to be met. Laws intended for consumer protection frequently are the consumer's enemy in this sort of situation. SE has said they intend to do a giveaway for EU this time but it shouldn't be surprising that it's taking longer to organize.

As for banning people selling codes on eBay, how do you ban someone who doesn't even have a game account? No one had to be a registered FFXIV account holder to get a code.

That's what I'm hoping for my AUS/NZ friends. Having more business presence in the region might make it easier to get past the laws intended to stiffle foreign competition.

There's a chance that forever. EU is simply a pain to deal with in terms of promotional events, and I suppose UK/France/Germany ones showed them as much, because while they did promos in three EU countries there're like 50+ of them here, with players in EU servers being practically from everywhere. Amazon/Ebay seems like easiest solution, but even that one won't work in every single country of EU because it still caters to local laws. Hell, their EU Store doesn't even have delivery to some of the countries that it lists as European (like Russia or Ukraine), what're we even talking about. It's very sad, but I'm afraid we're doomed to wait for those mount to show up in Mog Station.

Having it on Amazon is same thing as before motioned comply with laws and consumer protection laws. It just a marketplace.
