Doxxers using lodestone and fflogs to harass people

YES. THEY HAVE INTERACTED WITH ME ON STEAM. One of them even admitted to being a user who interacted with me on steam, and the other uses the same character as a profile pic and a name on both steam and kiwi farms.
As for what personal information could they gather, how should I know? I DON'T DOX PEOPLE.

What I DO know is they use google caches, frequently track down people's online photos and etc. using obscure means. I personally have no personal information on the internet. As I said before: other innocent people are likely being abused by them as well. THAT IS MY PEROGATIVE IN EGGING THEM ON. KIWI FARMS IS A SECONDARY ISSUE.

Then answer the questions again, to humor me:

1. What information are they receiving from your lodestone?

2. Are they receiving information on your ingame achievements? You can hide this in your lodestone settings.

3. Are they receiving information on your mounts, minions, and classes? How do you think this information could lead to your IRL identity?

It's fine if you don't want them to talk about your mounts and minions. But I fail to see how your information on the Lodestone could lead to your IRL identity, please help me see this.

I'll humor it and say, well if someone knows your character name, and you share this character (with name attached) on social media, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. and in turn have personal information on those websites, like location, face, etc.. There is a thread here that can lead to personal information, but that would be down to the own personal responsibility of the owner of these accounts, and what they share. No fault of SE here, except the reasonable complaints about in-game stalking, by players using the lodestone URL.

To an extent yes, but moreso to prove just how wrong they are to anyone on the site who may yet be reformed.

Call me a hopeless romantic, but I'd like to believe there are people on kiwi farms who can yet be reasoned with. I fail to see what any of this has to do with me asking squre enix to add more privacy toggles to avoid these issues from interrupting my enjoying the game, but I'm starting to suspect it's not even worth it at this point with the amount of pointless grilling I'm being put under that common sense can easily explain.

Just personal curiosity. I didn't get what would drive someone to engage with someone they're accusing of stalking them is all, that's not typical behaviour. I saw that you stated here that you egg them on, and saw in your Farms thread that you have had an active presence in said thread. Unless someone got something out of the interaction, such as self satisfaction from the attention, I wouldn't expect to see someone engaging with their stalker.

I do agree that it would be nice for SE to let us further "anonymize" our accounts though. I've had someone attempt to use the lodestone to stalk me ingame when I changed servers as well, and would like for some sort of added tools to prevent such a thing. Not sure what could be done about that without completely removing the character search function though.

Maybe this is a tad too gigabrain for me to handle, but I'm concerned the op is a doxx of the op, BY the op.

While I can only hope the thread gets poofed by mods, I'd encourage the OP to report anyone that contacts them ingame... but I'd think taking reports of out-of-game harassers is about all Square can possibly do for now.

Doxxing involves private IRL information.

Public information, aka, character info on Lodestone, is not doxxing.

Just throwing that out there. Your character information is not yours, it's SE's, and they can do with it what they please.

OP stop egging them on, stop provoking them. Get off the interwebs and go dark if needed, but for Halone's sake stop egging them on. They only do this because you yourself cause it.

The more air you give them, the funnier they will think it is to keep harrassing you. Conversely, the less air you give them then the sooner they get bored and head off to find a new cow to milk.

Then again; if you enjoy the sparring, and want to keep it up, then don't bring in SE to clean up your mess-stained sheets. Don't expect them to make you a safe haven you can keep poking the hornet's nest from.

Yep, this would be my concern too, but I do think as you suggest, it would be something silly the user in question did. Using a real life name, or using a character name on multiple services - including twitter/faecesbook - that google can link.

Kiwi farms is famous for doxxing, threatening and harassing LGBT and mentally disabled people. That's the only time I ever hear about it, like 4chan for the last 15 years. Having a thread there doesn't mean you're a bad person, and certainly NO ONE deserves to be doxxed, stalked and harassed. Those things are crimes for a reason.

I'm curious as to how much of a privacy issue there is with lodestone accounts or what exactly the issue is.

But, if you are being stalked and harassed this badly this could be something to get law enforcement involved with rather than try to depend on all the different forums you use to protect you. There is only so much they can do, and sometimes they can't catch all these people and whatever new accounts they might make. Idk how easy it will be in your state, but I had to take a stalking case to court once for someone I knew and it was very simple and over with. They were threatened with instant jail sentence or fine and criminal record if they ever contacted me again in person or digitally. I remember an online case against a notorious group of bullies back in the days of LiveJournal that put a pretty quick end to their shenanigans after one person got fed up with the harassing DMs and text messages (they dug up her phone number.)

(As much as the US government is so uptight about killing off websites that host adult content because oh no sex bad and sinful, I'd love to see them do something about websites that play host mainly to stalkers and targeted harassment to stop this behavior...)
