    Please disable cross world hunt trains

    Ever since cross world hunt trains were added they have been completely unplayable for people on PS4 or slower computers. This isn’t fair and I think they should return to marks only giving rewards to players on their world. It doesn’t matter if I can tag the mob with aoe heals if I can’t even get there before it’s demolished in 30 seconds because people are inconsiderate and “bullet trains” are the hot new thing. So please square Enix return hunt trains to the tight knit home world communities they once were and stop alienating half your playerbase from one of the few open world pieces of content you have.

    That’s irrelevant, teleporting to the subsequent zones can take upwards of 45 seconds to load on a PS4 with a SSD and this late into the expansion the marks die within 30 seconds. It’s pretty much impossible to get to the first mark of the zone, and sometimes the second if you hit congestion. This is the only piece of content in the game that is gated by a console that is impossible to get or a $10,000 graphics card.

    I'm on PS4 Pro, and I get there and get credit, even when zones get congested due to the train.

    Have you tried limiting all effects that are not you, shortening the names(I personally only show initials for people not on friends list/in FC), and adjusting other settings?

    Yes, every train I join I make sure to disable all spel effects and all player names and it does not make any noticeable difference on a standard PS4 with a SSD. I still hit congestion frequently and miss 4 or 5 marks per train because they die so fast nowadays.

    I'm one of the slower loader in those trains. Mind you, I did them during 5.5 nut hype where the explosive amount of players would often mean the conductor closing off the train for their own worlds so I have no idea what's the status nowadays. Here's what I did to alleviate my issue:
    1. Hide names/title/pet like others had mentioned above
    2. Reduce the amount of character rendering to minimum. This sounds counterintuitive, but apparently the game prioritizes rendering your target more than everybody else on your surrounding.
    3. Join a full party ASAP. The reason for this aside from contribution sharing, one of your party member is usually a monstrously fast clicker/inputter (to teleport). They helped a slow clicker like myself.
    4. Consider rolling as a tank (preferrably) or healer of the group. In the event when the hunt won't render correctly, just turn on tank stance & spam your non-targetting AoE in the middle of where players crowding. Healers can do the same but people usually resort in overhealing with aoe heals to get the full credit because they're prone to one-shots without tank's privilege (Mudman says hello).

    It's not inconsiderate to kill the hunts it's a design choice. they were meant to be competitive in a sense of you have to go out find and kill them before anyone else can..

    one could argue that if you werent already in the zone doing the work to trigger the mark you dont deserve credit for helping to kill it.

    I've been reported a couple fo times because ive just been flying around an area on my gatherer and been like ""oh hey a mark"... switched jobs and started to fight it only to find a whole bunch of people turning up and getting upset because they couldnt get there in time to get credit. but nothing ever happens because i'm playing the content as intended...

    They're pretty boring anyway just mindless zergs when so many people turn up.. I kinda wish they went the XI direction and only the party / alliance that pulls can engage.. at least then they could actually make them mechanically interesting and not just brainless zergs where the answer is just throw more bodies at it..

    Well, if we look at basically anything that isn't an instanced thing, there really isn't anything left other than zerging. Limiting it to less people and adding more mechanics wouldn't truly change that either, unless they limit the numbers by a lot.

    "10 units die to a mechanic? Got 40 left, keep whaling on it!" The only funny thing in this is that you don't actually need to say any of that since it's obvious and it's only worth mentioning if everyone dies and then drama begins.

    Odin managed to not be a pushover for quite a long time, regardless of the amount of players. I haven't done that fate since ShB so I can't say if he is now, but that would already be a good start for designing hunt monsters.

    Unfortunately, this would largely kill off the content. Hunts are only popular because they're a zergfest.

    Mr. Happy actually asked a similar question and Yoshida more or less said they don't want to allocate the resources to open world FATEs as it's equivalent to full scale dungeon bosses. I suspect he feels the same towards hunts. There's the limitation concern people just won't do them.
