    Partial game crash with no error message

    Hello, I've been getting an odd partial game crash for the past 6 months or so that occurs about once every ten hours of gameplay. I can't find any other threads describing a similar problem, so I'm posting one here.

    The game window freezes and get a translucent white overlay, like when windows detects that a program has become unresponsive. However, the audio continues to play without issue. I can still hear people running around, people sending me tells, etc. There doesn't seem to be any specific pattern to when it occurs, it appears to crash randomly.

    The game window will stay indefinitely like this until I decide to close it. Upon restart, the game immediately freezes back into the same state, and the only way I've found to fix it is to restart my PC.

    Nothing else on my system has any problems when FFXIV freezes like this. I suspect it may be a graphics driver issue, but it's persisted through one NVidia driver update so I'm not sure.

    Any help diagnosing this is appreciated, thanks!

    Good afternoon and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    What have you tried to alleviate the problem? Does this crash happen when Final Fantasy XIV is the only program running? Where in game does the crash occur? Also could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'
