I view party feature as a game-given tool to make my gameplay easier, in this case: getting gold rating. Why would I deny such good tool when it’s just few clicks away.. well to each their own.

Until they’re tuned (if it’s going to happen at all), your best bet is still to stick on one zone & party up with players of similar goals. Personally I, too have fair share of soloing myself & still get gold rating 7 out of 10 times. Partying up shoots that number up to 9 out of 10 times.

Also: while I do agree some skirmishes do need abit of tuning (Attack of the Machines is one of them that I can remember), I fail to see how those players burning down skirmishes under 20s can be ‘unfair’. They worked hard for that, why would you punish them for investing their time & being creative?

EDIT: After clearing one of the skirmish called "Relic Unleashed" (the one you fought pseudo Famfrit in zone 3), something about this skirmish could probably be used as a potential fix. Unlike many other skirmish, this one shows up in the map, but bosses remains untargetable for a bit less than a minute. This notifies other players & enables them to gather up before actually starting the encounter. One minute may not sounds enough, but it's definitely enough for those who camp to dedicate farming in -one- zone

Just because others worked hard for it, doesn't mean that it shouldn't be taken in to consideration that people who are new to the zone are going to struggle against them.

I swear this community is getting more and more less patient/toxic. It's beginning to really make me turn away from newer content.

    • Stay in the middle of the first, second or third area you are farming when no skirmishes are up.
    • Do /shout lfg zone 3.
    • If you don't get invited, invite others who ask to your party.
    • If you have a tank that is level 71 or higher, use that, turn on your tank stance and use enmity attacks on a single target or AoE on multiple targets.
    • When you get into a CE, /shout lfg, or invite people to your party so it won't disband afterwards.
There is a bit of a problem, such as skirmishes scaling to 1 person while everyone is in a CE and then melting when everyone gets out. There isn't anything toxic about it though. You just need to try and do what I suggested, you may occasionally lose some mettle from not getting gold but you still get plenty overall from the third area.

For mechanics that kill you, being a dark knight helps because you can use the blackest night to prevent death, especially from the chocobo meteors. You still need a bit of distance though.

There are a lot of alternatives like essences that increase health, Lost Bubble and Stoneskin.

I've noticed that for a lot of the skirmishes recently. People head to them before I even see them on the map and a few times that has affected me getting gold.
