Always Bet On Black

The final quest in the BLM questline. The fight for this quest can actually be pretty challenging if you don't follow the right strategy. The best setup for this fight is one tank, 2 WHMs, and the rest of the party as BLM (or THM). The trick to this fight is in the adds; they must all be killed at the same time, or they will repop quickly and overwhelm you.

The Fight

To start, the BLMs should run in together and all Blizzara. This will kill the first set of adds. Meanwhile, the tank grabs Barbatos and runs him to the entrance of the area. The mages take up a position on the altar. Every minute or so, more adds will pop right on top of the mages. The BLMs all simply Blizzara at this point and kill the adds. Between pops, damage Barbatos, but be sure to keep MP up to deal with adds. Also, much like Batraal, when Barbatos' weapons glow, he'll start dealing a lot more damage, which is why 2 WHMs is a good idea here.
