Major Performance issues (certain areas only) PC/Win10

    Hello.

I am returning to FFXIV after an absence since around 5.0. I play on a Japanese server, Kujata, however I live in Taiwan so keep that in mind when we talk about the issues I'm having.

First, the issue: Very latency-esque issues in certain duties only (see below) getting hit by mechanics I seem to be clearly not in the hit box of, animations freezing my character's movement so that I slide around and not run, spell animations not going off, etc. (The latter issues being far more frequent than the former.)

This type of stuff happens only in:

The Neir 24 man raid: Rarely in the copied factory and puppet bunker, but much more often in the latest version.

The Bozjan critical events, the 24-man raid in Bozja, and the Castle event in Bozja. Content which I am unlikely to repeat now that I am rank 10 and can get my epic to i515 or so which will do until I get to Endwalker.

Stuff I have tried and noticed.
    1) For some reason lately I have been getting poor connections to Kujata though I never had when I played before. I have, however, gotten excellent connections with Kujata through the use of a VPN and the issues remain.

    2) My video drivers seem up to date.

    3) I have tried closing YouTube, etc. And shutting off other programs that might be eating at my bandwith.

    4) I have tried restarting my router.

Now, my computer IS an older one and I do hope to upgrade it when I can actually get my hands on a new video card. If this is perceived to be a PC specific problem that my comp is aging and unable to perform on this content, what kinds of things might alleviate this problem when I get a newer PC so I don't run into it?

EDIT: Just to clarify, I have done Crystal Tower, Mhach and Ivalice raids since returning and these issues have not been occuring there.

"Then what is magic for?" Prince Lir demanded wildly. "What use is wizardry if it cannot save a unicorn?"
Schmendrick did not turn his head. With a touch of sad mockery in his voice, he said, "That's what heroes are for."

I am having this same issues, mostly in 24 man content. when I do trials, it's fine and at the start of alliance raids/delibrum, it's fine, but it will very quickly start stuttering, like I'm only getting 1-2fps [very stuttery, aoe's popping off right as they show up, taking a while to register me using abilities, movement not showing, only sliding], but when I open system config to see my frames, I'm still showing as normal amount of frames [for me between 13-18 fps is normal] exiting the game and re opening fixes it for a short time, but it doesn't take long for the issue to come back.

I have ALSO noticed, that even though I have party effects OFF I can when this happens, see party effects, like red mages verfire and verstone going off on the boss.

I tried resetting my router, my driver's are updated, I restarted my cpu many times, and let my cpu stay off over night. This has only recently started happening. I do have a low specs cpu, but I've been playing this without much issue for a few months now.

Ah, I should add I'm on the NA Aether Data center, playing on faerie.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

We apologize for the delay in our response, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    - The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

-Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

-Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

I did all those things you suggested, and it did not fix my issue.

I am pretty sure I know what my issue is, and it's party effects. I have it set to none, for both party and npc, but they are still showing. I see all LMB party effects, and spell/attack party effects still. like verstone from RDM and such.

I've also been experiencing these issues, it's like a frame or two of lost input and the like, I see it very frequently in Puppet's Bunker compared to others, I've tested other 8 mans and outside in areas such as housing districts and more. I also ran through the troubleshooting suggested, and have also reset my home gateway, done a couple reboots and other driver checks, so far the issues is of intermittent persistence.

I am playing on Gilgamesh, Aether datacenter as well. ATT is my service provider, so I can't help but wonder if there's something datacenter specific with some of the 24 man/high yield instanced content. I have a fairly well built PC that normally has 90 frames but the random loss of input/frames is a little jarring to be sure.

    @aryn2382

I made a new character on an EU server, and still had the same issue, it's not just aether, and while capping my frames at 15 fps did help some, it didn't fully fix it.

I'm on Elemental DC, so definitely not just Aether.

I have run the above fixes but they don't seem to have done anything to clear up the issue. I'll see what happens tonight after reset and I go back into the Tower at Pardagim's Breach for my weekly drop there. I don't do Bozja/Zandor anymore, so not going there to test it =p
