What are the Requirements in order to Undertake Grand Company leves?

In a previous post earlier today I requested help in the best way to obtain GC seals.

(I am presently a level 48 archer and my GC rank is private first class. I have completed the rank 1 GC hunting log, but need to reach rank 2 before doing the next one).

The response I received was that GC leves were the best way for me to obtain the seals I need in order to reach GC rank 2.

However, when I click on Poponagu in Camp Drybone, happily expecting to begin doing these leves, he tells me to "march back out into the field".

Great! Now what? What am I still lacking in order to do these leves? Hopefully it is something someone will know and it will be something I am able to do.

The issuers for GC leves are different than the other one. The NPC you want in Drybone is Kikiri. There's another wrinkle. If your GC isn't the Immortal Flames you really should use the one associated with yours since they give an affiliation bonus. Cedrepierre in Nine Ivies for the Adders or Eugene in Moraby for the Maelstrom.

If you have it unlocked (and I can't remember what rank you need to be to unlock it) another good way to get seals are the supply and provisioning deliveries. They're also a good way to level up gathering if you are doing those classes. the Expert delivery lets you turn in green and blue gear for seals, so greed on everything in dungeons, turn the ones you can use in for seals. If you send your retainers on ventures, they tend to bring back a lot of gear, turn those in if you can't use them.
