5.55 Relic Quest: A problematic frustration

So recently 5.55 dropped, and everyone is excited to visit the new location (Zadnor) and to be able to get their new relic weapon! However, I feel this needs to be addressed, and something needs to be fixed here.

This is just in my experience so please understand I'm talking from my perspective. To get the 30 components from each zones FATEs is more than frustrating. Imagine: you are at the location of a FATE as soon as it spawns. Sweet! I should get what I need! You help out through the entire thing, and at the end you do not get a component. Ok, well maybe its cause I was on tank and I need to do more damage? Switch to a DPS class and attempt this again. Nope, still nothing! Umm...OK, let me get on a healer and see if I do DPS and heal if that may help so it counts? NOPE!

This has become such a frustrating endeavor. I am not saying this is hard by any means. Compared to the other weapons this one so far is 1000x easier, but it is frustrating when you feel as if you participate and do all of what it seems is needed, but get nothing. I am not talking about a situation where you show up with the FATE at 65% and you help finish it, no. This is a situation where you are there from 0% to 100% completion, doing damage, avoiding taking damage, healing, tanking, whatever it may be and you get absolutely zilch. Irritating and I wish there was a way for this to be remedied. "Join a party" I would love to...if anyone actually invited/responded to shouting out that you're looking for one. Stuck being solo most of the time unless you go in with another group.

Oh well, gonna continue grinding, but wanted to address this issue cause I do not know if it just my cruddy luck, or if this is happening to others as well.

I am kinda shocked you are not getting into any parties. Not once have I had an issue in getting into one. And the times I was solo I just went as a dancer, run up pop standard step and it is usually enough for gold if it is dying that fast nobody can touch it more than once. I was farming the zones while waiting on Dalriada's to pop so I could farm plat coins to buy the hair I wanted. So it sort of just all got farmed for the most part without me paying much attention at all. Then I realised I need more Dalriada for the last step... *shudder* So I have an extra Hairstyle to sell now xD

There are the normal raids you can do to get the pieces instead. It's at least guaranteed for you and you don't need to rush around Zadnor like a headless chicken. All the other members of my FC did it that way, one had his relic the next morning after the patch. I was the one lunatic that farmed it in Zadnor itself. I would guess it will be much more time efficient for you to get them that way if you really are not having any luck.

I am kinda shocked you are not getting into any parties. Not once have I had an issue in getting into one.

I also have trouble getting into a group more often than not. I'm not sure why though. It's just one of those things I guess. Wrong instance wrong time? No idea.

In both Bozja and Zadnor I either soloed while grinding, only joining parties to do CEs, or I was in a group with two other people. Never had any issues getting a gold rank, only in zone 3 in Zadnor (I usually get silvers when that happens, which is still like 150k mettle). Never had any issue getting parties either, even now there's always a group doing something. Not really sure what you are doing wrong?

I'm not sure how you are having trouble honestly. I got monk form 71 to 80 doing the fates and had most of the materials I needed. Are you in a party or just running them solo? Cause if your solo that is going to make it hard to get enough credit for gold

That sounded like more player problem than the content problem, in my opinion.

Sometimes switching from “LFG <zone>” into “LFM <zone>” magically attracts the antisocials responses. There are fewer player with initiatives unsurprisingly.

That being said that’s not something practiced myself—but I have seen my FCmate done that & it works wonder. Give it a try perhaps?

It works quite well if the instance is busy and there's not a Castrum/Dalriada going on.

- Try making a party yourself instead of shouting to be invited to one.
- If it becomes frustrating, go out and farm the tokens in normal raid in the meantime and come back later.

Back in my day, "LFG" implied that you were solo and "LFM" implied that you were at least two (i.e. a group).
