You aren't going to get banned for AFK. Just don't say you are 'choosing' not to play in chat. You can even make it thematic, and say you had an "emergency", or some other nonsense. That's the state of the game.
A joke, by the way.

If you don't want to be shamed for doing nothing, don't ever presume to tell others what they should have learnt at "this point in the game". You are in no position to lecture anyone about anything. First learn to play your role then look at how someone else is playing.
Angel/demon, good/bad, smart/idiot. I am all that and I choose how to appear to the people I come across. I want to be seen as toxic by pathetic leeches so I think I am doing a good job so far.
And for the previous reply.
I often disregard common rules because they do not make sense to me. And if being an adult means becoming this crazy person who respects rules without understanding or questioning them and their legitimacy then I'd rather stay a child for the rest of my life.
I am not going to not afk because I might get banned. I am even going to say it out loud cuz this what I want to do in this situation and in my head it's justified. Fact of the matter is I am not banned. Fortune favours the bold I guess. Even If I get banned which would mean that me and a gm did not get on the same page, we move on to something else. There isn't much for me to do in ffxiv anymore anyways in terms of actual content to explore. I did savage twice, got the chest the 2nd time but.... I don't really want to be waiting a whole week to do it again. When I play I want to play a lot. And the only playing with benefit I can currently do is grinding for relic. Idk, it is not very entertaining. The game seemed more fun to me when I knew nothing at the start.
This is very weird to read. I've encountered others who told me that not everybody can be "a pro like me" or "as good as me".
First of all I am not a pro. My dps is green for savage content in the easiest job in the game - whm. Maybe I am good in terms of doing dmg in dungeons cuz I uploaded some random logs while doing dailies and my dps was in orange.
In any case, being able to think is not being a pro. Everybody who earns their money on their own has enough brain capacity to figure out basic stuff about a game. I don't like underestimating people and thinking that they are that dense that they can't figure out how to play. Nope, in almost all cases it is out of lack of respect for your teammates. This could be due to utter negligence or intentional.
I've noticed that the higher-level people are much less likely to change anything about their playstyle, unlike new folks. Pretty common, it's the same with habits irl. Some players have just made it their habit to disrespect others with their playstyle and label it as fun. Disgusting perversion of reality.

I am not stating in the game that I am using act unless I am talking with trusted people. I understood that much from my first thread where everybody warned me about mentioning act logs in a report. The devs do not want to publically encourage the use of act.
I was left with the impression people can have open discussions about it in the forums because I did say in my first thread that I am using act and again my account was not banned. There was that one person who was really obsessed with everyone following the rules and that no one should be using act under any circumstances and that "the ban hammer should fall upon my ToS violating head". I am pretty sure she took her time to report me.
And to aelin, I had a run like that only once from 17 in total. Afking is not common practice for me as it is not to get so disorganized players. And by afking I meant rezzing from the start when I die. It is practically the same when the boss fights take 10mins, the only difference is that I at least get to deal dmg and actually play the game for the first couple of mins before the 2nd unavoidable aoe hits or even faster if I eat a mechanic.

I had a WoL NM party that many of us reported an AFKer a month ago, they got so mad someone new failed the button check and wiped a few times another pull I saw they did no damage, they just hung around and said words I wouldn't say in-game. You can AFK in the game, legally, with permission. Most of the time in these situations people do more than AFK, they become petty about something then take it out on others, which is a good way to end up with a ticket to a GM.
The punishment for not using essences in Dalriada can sometimes be felt. Like if you have 21 people to not have echo, maybe enough new people, and then not enough people use them but end up taking too long or wiping in the hallways, bosses, etc. Low DPS along with deaths will add up and the clock will run out.
DR the clock isn't as low, which I think it should be lower, or they should add the enrages. Because in savage it's required to use pure essences to even make the DPS checks. It's just a poorly tuned dungeon because the variance between a good run of 20 minutes to 40+ minutes with 24 people shouldn't be that high.
Just had a 50 minute run in DF. This is just sad.

Asmongold is going to be so mad when he finds out.
That is what you do with your friends: plan DR in advance and melt down things. If you don't have friends, well, beggars can't choose.
Since you can do the last stage of the relic in DR and speedruns have become a thing in PF I figured I'd give it try. Was so much better. 18 minute runs, nice groups, coordination and communication on raid buffs. Lost Seraph lasts forever, Aetherweaver is extremely easy to get and WHM can easily compete with dps, so you can hop in quite cheaply.
Now that it's 1 CLUSTER per pure essence fragment you're trolling even harder if you don't use pure essences and the actions that come with those fragments (like Flare Star, Rend, Dervish).
