New Sale - Need help understanding versions of game and how they tie to accounts

This is by far the most confusing game client version system in any MMO game created to date. Most games have a console version and a non-console version...that's it. The accounts are often separate but not always.

I originally bought the game on Steam. So I apparently have the PC version for Steam and all my upgrades must be bought on Steam because the PC version for Steam is somehow different than the PC version from Square which is different than the Mac version from Square which is different that than the Playstation version....

Can I take advantage of the sale for the PC version from Square since the PC version on Steam is not on sale?? Can I buy the full game from Square and use my existing account login or are all the PC accounts separate as well?

No, Steam commandeers the PC platform slot on your account. If you try to register the PC proper version, it will tell you you already have a PC license registered to your account.

Not that hard to understand it honestly. If you've bought the game on steam then your account is locked to steam and all future purchases must be done via steam. No, You cannot transfer over to SE. I'd recommend waiting for the steam summer sale in july 2021, ShB might go on sale then.

Steam and non-Steam cant both exist on an account. But you could use the sale to buy a PS4/5 license if you have a console.
