If you’re ever in doubt about how little effort is spent on SCH. Just remember the state it launched in for 4.0. It went from being a dungeon powerhouse to having to single target on aoe pulls because SE stripped away swathes of it’s kit and forgot to give it back a simple spammable AoE.

What's even funnier is how they changed SCH in PvP, they keep removing, reapplying and removing the Fairy and now, SCH uses dissipation only for a instant charge on oGCD heals and that laughable heal boost (which is the only purpose of the fairy gauge in pvp).

I wonder if Squeenix will attempt another Energydrain removal with the 6.0 Patchnotes and call it a day for Scholar changes.

I'm 100% positive they're going to do this, they've wanted to for a while.

Honestly? Do it and be done with it. Take the damn band aid off. Put the MP regen on all the other Aetherflow abilities.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

PvP Scholar is far and away more entertaining to play than PvE Scholar. You don't have to worry about the fairy bugging out as she's not there, Dissipation isn't a joke, you actually interact with the Fairy Gauge, the Fairy Gauge isn't just some over-glorified cooldown and you never clip cooldowns with Broil's 1.5 second cast time that lets you weave everything all day everyday.

SCH is still inferior to both AST and WHM in PvP and even if you go with dissipation + largesse, you prevent at most only 1 enemy attack fully at the cost of half your fairy gauge, one CD and 1/10th of your entire Manapool which has a hard time regenerating in PvP no matter how you look at it. The other two can pull off way more for the same costs.

So yeah, SCH is garbage, no matter how you look at it. And since Squeenix doesn't care about both PvP AND interesting Job designs (visuals dont count btw), i highly doubt that SCH will ever be good.

Didn't say SCH was better than WHM or AST, I said it was more entertaining to play than it's PvE counterpart.

I wouldnt consider playing with a handful of PvE Skills in a PvP mode a fun activity on the long run (can be said for any Job design in PvP). I mean, it's funny in a morbid kind of way, but sooner or later, you can't help but feel angry and sorry for it, provided you truly care about this kind of stuff.

Why would I feel angry or sorry about it? I am all for having the need for less actions in the long haul. I am all for the consolidation of combos and spells into 1 button so that it can pave the way for more cooldowns being added without having to cull already existing actions or taking an action, renaming it and then re-adding it at higher levels and calling it a new ability. Hello Divine Seal-I mean Largesse-I mean Temperance. A lot of jobs are in danger of action culling and taking portions of their PvP counterparts and giving it to their PvE versions would prevent action culling from occurring. I would even argue that all jobs's PvP versions have more fluid gameplay than their PvE versions, especially the likes of Summoner.

I’ve honestly been having more fun ‘healing’ Bozja content as a dancer using actions than I’ve had healing Savage in years. It’s just depressing at this point

This only shows how little you care and know about PvP in MMORPGs. While the single button Rotation by itself isn't a bad idea, the fact that every single Job in PvP is terrible designed (and having way too few Skills both in number and usefulness) still remains.

But i do agree that some of the PvP Skills would be a good addition to PvE, because of the way they are designed.
