Getting a significant amount of the correct kind of essence can take hours, yes, especially if you're doing it solo.

When I was actively trying to farm clusters for the emotes it could take a long long time before I even got a group for it. I joined a discord with the purpose of finding groups more easily and they really were not posted very often and never at a time I was free. I think I would be ready to shoot myself trying to do that solo, yikes. I have done plenty castrum runs, I have done plenty DR runs and I still have very few essences. I ran out of Cure 4's now as often we end up without a healer the runs I dare to not heal myself.

I mostly ran fates and CE's all the way to 15, only doing CLL and DR to unlock relic steps. After cashing in everything I had about 5 usable essences. Never tried specifically farming clusters, but with how little I had after running Bozja for days I can't imagine you'll be able to farm enough for all the essences you'll ever need in under an hour; even with a dedicated group.

If YOU start using essences and bring effort, others will too.

Other people don't base their decisions on what they see you doing. I'd imagine most people in DF DR don't even notice whether or not you've used an essence.

The people on the forums just thoroughly enjoy being angry, but they don't represent the majority of the community. Most people in DR likely can't even be bothered to make a mental note of who's using what.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't expect anyone to click on every person to see if they used buffs or not, I am not that dense.
I just don't see a reason why one wouldn't want to save THEIR OWN time by just having an essence up especially since you need to farm so much for this relic. It's literally a free damage.
