"If everyone" is a pointless parallel to draw. I can't make everyone do anything, so I don't care what things could theoretically be like if everyone was farming essences. The only difference my farming essences would make is the 20% damage boost I'd personally get if I had skirmisher essences to spare, and that amounts to virtually nothing.

I'm prepared to spend 45+ in DRN regardless, me spending hours or 400k gil trying to get a stockpile of skirmisher essences won't change that. The situation in DF is what it is. If you want to waste time farming and then moan here about how it STILL takes forever then go nuts, but it's not a good use of my time.

You realize you can just grind clusters, like I said, for 30 minutes or less and get multiple Pures which are far stronger than a Deep Skirmisher, right? If you're prepared to spend 45+ minutes in a single DRN, surely you can spare that in Bozja once in a while and then join several 20 minute DRN speed runs instead. Again, the math here trivially checks out in your favor.

I'm using DF; I have no interest in relying on PF speed runs being available at a lot of the random times I'm able to play. The convenience and constant availability of DF trumps whatever time I might save by farming and tracking down speed runs. My position is that farming essences for DF runs is pointless, so I'm not going to bother.
