10k too much. Fuck essences I like my 1h DR runs. If I even by chance get essences I don't even use them because of the emotional value they have to me.

You don't buy essences, you buy fragments, which only have a chance of giving you a useful essence. Getting a comfortable amount of skirmisher essences would probably cost about 400k gil. Then after you buy them and use them your DR runs still take an hour, because 1 person having an essence doesn't change anything.

So yea, no thanks.

I never buy essences regardless of cost unless they're given to me for free and even then I don't use them, they honestly don't effect my damage output that much tbh.

Proper essences and actions are not at all a small damage increase. This game doesn't allow quantification of that difference, but... it's definitely not insignificant.

Heck, I've ended up tanking as a white mage dps more than once. Our burst is so insane that 9 runs out of 10 I have to wait and hold back on the four chess pieces boss in DR if I don't want to get obliterated instantly. My fully buffed glares hit for 70-110k on average. It's hilarious.

All jokes aside, I don't see how anyone can look at a WHM using the proper essences, dealing over twice the amount of damage they normally do, and say "Oh that's just a small damage increase, not worth it".

Now imagine if the other 23 people are using decent essences. The difference between everyone using essences and everyone not using essences is astronomical.

At the moment I have no essences that are of use, they are all max hp gain and defense gains, which as a healer doesn't do me very good. The ones that had been useful I have already used.

The FF community is rather unfortunately plagued by morally defective, borderline-sociopathic losers. It's actually the very same lot of people that virtue signal constantly and try to uphold the supposed 'greatness' of the community (stay hydrated btw).

Projecting the illusion that we're all super nice and casting criticism in an extremely negative light is extremely beneficial to their grift, and has the wonderful side-effect of boosting their ego and public image. Somehow, this community has managed to frame calling people on their grift as a negative thing.

You aren't the victim for not using essences. You're a part of the problem, and you deserve any negative social pressure that comes your way.

I mean, I’ve seen a few who thinks that a Profane WHM was sitting on top of enmity list after their MT because they thought they’re overhealing in DRn(something that their co-healer actually did). Of course, it was ridiculed subtly after.

Not having gil isn't an excuse since you can always go to bozja and farm some fragments that can last you weeks and saves you even more time. "but not everyone is using them so I won't bother" then you're just contributing to the problem.

Bozja is designed this way with bosses having way more HP than usual, so it's important to have those essence buff plus the lost actions which can also greatly help and massively increase your damage/healing/defense.

It's like entering a duty dungeon with half the gear is broken and some gear is missing, you can still enter the dungeon, but you're literally griefing your team. "but repairing gear costs gil and getting some gear costs gil/tomes" Would you like to enter a dungeon with 3 other players doing the exact samething? The answer would be yes because you don't care and you don't value other peoples times even if the dungeon takes an hour, but instead let's blame yoshiP and square for allowing us to enter dungeons/DR with broken gear/without essences instead of fixing this mindset and mentality.

You just want Square to handout everything to you, but instead we have to deal with players like you.
