    Cutscenes and story sequences

Is it possible for Square to implement slightly longer cutscenes instead of having a story/quest sequence stop for you to walk 10 feet and talk to someone else to trigger the next cutscene?

I get that it might be for break in between segements for a quick pause or something, but still. It's obviously time padding. I get rather annoyed by it. I'm chilling watching things unfold and then they want me to walk back and forth for no real reason. I'd rather have an extra 2 minutes of cutscene. I know it's been this way a while and maybe in the beginning I could understand, but by the 3rd expansion, is it really needed to stretch out the gameplay time? Most of us are already 1000's of hours logged.

Please. I just want to skip 1 cutscene not 10.

I think the current situation is just fine.

It gives people breaks between cut scenes who don't want to skip the cut scene.

Gives people time to take in what they just saw before they move on.

I mean, I tend to assume it means that the people around have changed the idle chatter they give when you talk to them outside of being the mission contact, and I'd rather not lose those, because they've had some interesting little comments buried in them.

If youre on a bad connection, it gives you more places to pick the scene up and continue. If you arent a story skipper, you probly remember the 45 or so minute string of cutscenes at the end or the ARR patches/just before Heavensward. At the time i was playing with not only a bad connection, but with a graphics card that was sometimes overheating which would lead to crashes. I could normally play the game just fine, and money was tight so an upgrade wasnt in my future for a few months yet. That day happened to be a bad day for me, because between crashes and disconnections i spent over 4 hours trying to get through that set of cutscenes. And this was with me getting aggressive with skipping scenes to get past the parts id seen and up to whatever happened next. One or two breaks in the middle would have made a world of difference to me, plus more chances for interaction and idle chatter with the team. Yes, i understand from a story telling perspective why that particular string of scenes would be tricky. But from a gameplay perspective id still have loved it.

I felt the same way too sometimes, but then I wondered why some dialogues need to have a cutscene at all when a normal dialogue interaction would suffice? Rather than combining shorter cutscenes into longer ones, there should be less cutscenes in general.
