Thread: FFXIV Random DirectX11 Crashes on Windows 10 after patch 5.5

Please help ive tried almost anything i have found on google relating to the directx11 crashes including
-underclocking gpu
-limiting fps to 60
-reinstalling

The error still persists and im unsure as to why.

Have any changes happened to the device before the issue began? We would also like to recommend several other troubleshooting steps:

1) Make sure that your hardware is not overheating and remove any overclocks you may have on your graphics card or processor. Please check that any fans or vents are clear of blocks.
2) Disable any additional programs that could cause interference with the game itself including chat programs. Also, remove any custom configurations made using graphics driver-level programs
3) Remove any mods or injectors from the game or system
4) Turn off Fullscreen Optimizations. Find the executable file for the game (normally found in the install folder), right-click it and select 'Properties'. Under the 'Compatibility' tab, check the box labeled 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations', then click 'Apply'.
5) Remove any unnecessary USB or audio devices (controllers, headphones, flash drives etc.)
6) Update and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card
7) Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything

The computer runs at a constant 50-60c as the unit is water cooled.
2) Disable any additional programs that could cause interference with the game itself including chat programs. Also, remove any custom configurations made using graphics driver-level programs
The only thing running in the background at all times is the anti-virus software trend micro and steam
3) Remove any mods or injectors from the game or system
I do not use mods
4) Turn off Fullscreen Optimizations. Find the executable file for the game (normally found in the install folder), right-click it and select 'Properties'. Under the 'Compatibility' tab, check the box labeled 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations', then click 'Apply'.
Tried this seems to have made the issue more frequent (as in i can only be in for a few seconds before crashing)

No usb devices other then mouse/keyboard are present and the issue still occurs
6) Update and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card
tried performing a clean install of the latest Nvidia 466.63 driver and am still experiencing this issue
7) Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything
havent tried yet but i am in the process of it and will update asap

a lot of people is getting this error, and they do nothingggggg......just this stupids automatic response......

In my case things slow down when going Borderless. But performance is ok when going full-screen. My guess is that it doesn't like it when other applications compete for video memory. If that's the case, Square need to check their texture caching code.

As for small number of posts.
Have you consider that many people won't post their issues? Most players do not even know about this forum. Finally. consider that every unanswered performance issue is a lost subscription. This isn't an OS where people are stuck and there are a lot of competing games.

For every 1 person posting their technical problems, there will be a 100 persons not posting them.

We apologize for the delay in our response to your concern. If you are still experiencing this issue, could you try using a registry cleaner such as CC cleaner? It would run through the PC and remove files that may have been left behind by installations and other activity on the PC.

Are you by chance gathering? Other people, including myself, are experiencing issues with the game crashing after opening the gathering log ever since the new patch.

THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I'M EXPERIENCING! It usually happens when I'm gathering, a lot of the times when I'm opening my gathering log, moving, or opening my map! I've tried everything (I work in IT) I could think of and NOTHING helps.

I have also an amd 6900xt and i can play the game on dx9c without any problems, but i have random fatal dx11 errors
