WARNING: Phishing Scheme on Crystal, Please Be Aware

Just got a /Tell yesterday. All the expected phishing tags were there. Blacklisted and reported, but judging by the name I can't help but suspect these are hijacked accounts. I just can't believe ppl aren't as skeptical as others are of this stuff, I mean if it wasn't working they'd move on to another tactic yes?

They are 100% hijacked accounts, as I do background checks on all of the accounts that send me tells and they always have way too much accomplished to be some expendable throwaway account, unlike a lot of the RMT farm bots you see (Who tend to have only one DoW/M job maxed and nothing else touched at all).

The whole scheme presumably started with just one character on a paid account (So they could send tells to people), but once they got one person to bite, they were able to use that player's character to perpetuate the scam indefinitely. It's hardly a new tactic when it comes to MMOs.

I did notice that they periodically change the message they're sending people, so I'd assume the extent they're willing to go to in order to change things up.
