Curious, Do you do Extreme/Savage/ultimate content or do you just play casually?

As the title says, I'm very curious as to the reasons for and against doing the content.

Personally i love Extreme/Savage, I find getting through fights consistently without making mistakes to be rewarding and very satisfying.

Just getting into Ultimate's recently and really enjoying myself. The learning process of UwU is great, finally past titan and trying to consistently get to that point is actually very fun.

I find that XIV does a good job of keeping the content simple, and learning a fight is nothing more than 'remembering' what order mechanics happen in, with slight variance to each mechanic.

What are your reasons for and against doing the harder content in the game?

I used to. Nowadays I'm more into crafting and relaxing. I do the occasional unreal trial since they're not very difficult.

I don't play Extreme/Savage/Ultimate. I'm not stranger to progressing raids in other games, but I grow tired of having to find a static (which I'm bad/unlucky at), match my time with other people, then wait for everyone online at the same time. It feels like a second job that requires more commitment that I feel wanting to offer for a game. In this game, gear progression is lenient and not strictly require hardcore raiding, so I have been avoiding any extreme and above contents since then. This gives me time playing other games and relax more.

    Casual in terms of content.

No Extremes, no Savages, no Ultimates (don't even have them unlocked )

Just get too much anxiety (go ahead, laugh at me getting anxiety in a game) doing anything above normal mode stuff.

The thing that really put me into this mood was doing Tsuku EX with a full set of Ronkan gear during patch 5.0 with my old FC. With the shades starting at 4 stacks already I couldn't react fast enough to switch to the right side to the point after my 6th death on the same mechanic I had to excuse myself.

I just hate being that person who keeps failing and dragging a group down. I'll get that in normal modes early in releases but over time as we overgear it with tomestone stuff it settles a bit.

From my experience I would say that savage is a love or hate content. Yes, for some people it might be interesting to see themselves through a fight knowing exactly what button to press at any given moment each time they're progging, it feels like a dance with every move carefully thought out, and I used to find satisfaction in that too, it just does something to your brain that makes you feel like you really did the most, you know every boss's move to a t, you're a god at this game yada yada. Recently though I found myself really disliking this approach to combat and feeling burnt out, it just feels dull and repetitive when you're progging the same thing over and over again several days in a row with same old mechanics in a heavily scripted fight.

I might consider going back doing savage in the future but as of right now I don't see a reason to subject myself to literal torture when I can just... you know, actually have fun doing other stuff in this game or any other game.

This is more in line with how i feel, EX/Savage/Ultimate feels like a choreographed dance, and you are just learning the routine.
I love that feeling of getting it all correct, knowing that no mistakes were made mechanically

I play EX and Savages casually, if that makes any sense.

I enjoy dealing with more challenging contents provided there are some nice reward at the end of it. In this case, gearing up BiS pieces (a recurring habit I have in any games I played) and possibly using it to satisfy my glamour wormhole addiction. But I won't do more than 4-6 hours of active raiding weekly. Eight hours was the longest stretch I compromised and I felt like half of my soul has exited my body; never again.

Currently I have no desire to attempt any Ultimate (the prospect isn't appealing to me, I don't even like most Ultimate weapons aesthetic wise) but if my current static have any future plan to touch it, I intend to stick around and see how it goes.

    Casual.
Apparently I got the awareness and DPS that I can easily fit into my FC's savage team but I am unable to stomach bashing my head in 20+ times on the same boss each raid evening.

I used to run extreme all the time and I've done savage in the past as well. I've stopped doing either for a long time now. Not worth wasting my time on something that may take a lo g time with tons of wipes when I can play my crazy huge backlog of games instead while simultaneously making videos for my YouTube channel.
