I applaud you Square Enix and the Nier team (Spoilers!)

When Nier crossover was announced I was really not into it; I felt like the Nier games were tacky. The crossover however changed my mind and made me want to buy all the Nier games now; bonus if they let me play as 2P in new game+ too, or in a future Nier game.

But what really got me about the FFXIV and Nier crossover was the story; the Anogg and Konogg situation and Komra, all of that was so well done. I never thought Lalafels/Dwarves were going to be the highlight of Shadowbringers, but damn it they really are.

I just want share my feedback with you and how this story really touched me personally. And dammit thank you for not killing off Anogg or making Anogg a soulless android, that would've really sunk me. And lastly I'll say this, when it comes to crossovers or raids do what you feel is right. These crossovers have made FFXIV a better game, at least for me anyway.

PS. I just finished the weekly story quests, that conclusion really pulled it all together.

I thought it was really interesting that the focus of the storyline isn't so much about us saving the world (again, my we get enough of that) or about having an obligatory romp with the cameo characters, but it was about a small piece of the world and how the crossover impacted it and the people that live there. The dwarves were the center of the story and man I agree they were super well done.

As far as I'm aware 2P is only playable in the game she was made for: Soul Calibur 6, but who knows what the future may bring.

Glad you enjoyed it if this post isn't trolling, but I found the story to be all around pretty disapointing. I did like the dwarf stuff with the fallout of 2P's attack but the actual Automata part of the story was lazily handled.

I liked the raids gameplay wise though and several of the glams, so I'm good on that front at least.

2P isn't really a 'character' in soul calibur, just a palette swap of 2B as her alternate colors. With 2P being a pun because 2B and 2P meaning 'player 2.'

Thank you for the replies, I'm glad others enjoyed the raids, the story, the characters, and the events in general. I think people were expecting them to give the Nier androids more character value or more character screentime than they actually got. At the end of the day they're androids, they're there for missions. What really brought character to the story was Komra, the dwarf siblings, and the implications to the world if the bad androids succeeded.

Some believe Konogg died, but that can't really be considering how recently we got the letter from him and how recently the Bourgeois client was in talks with him for the dwarf automata. Basically the cutscenes we saw of him was like an echo flashback; either an echo or just pure flashbacks of what happens a few days to a few hours before we got to his shack in the Derelicts.

There was no hint of "phantasm" or ghost-like indications, like them fading into the background or anything; nor anything suggesting that Konogg died. Besides, his body would've been there or found somehow. The way I see it Anogg came back from whatever planet or location in the universe she went to with 2B and 9S and now they're running around Norvrandt.
However, I am open to discussion on what actually happened, there's a chance that it's not like this.

I share your opinion on Anogg and Konogg. I didn't dislike the story but I do feel that it definitely was lacking a lot of depth.

I know she became one during the story, but my impression is that after she came back with the most recent weekly quest (ending) she turned back to normal. At least her personality turned back to normal, simply Konogg's sister again, even if she remained part robot. That's how I saw it though; if I'm wrong it's worth discussing. It's better to discuss it than to call names.

Anogg died. She got crushed by that sphere. Some...form...of her (who the hell knows, it's not like this storyline explains anything) is who we interacted with and, I dunno, returned to the sphere when it went bye bye or something?

Nobody really knows what was going on with that ending. It still could have been a dying hallucination of Konogg or something, who knows. Maybe he threw himself into the sea so that's why there is no body.

It seems you didn't mean it to be, but given how much negative feedback the story has gotten about the same points you're praising, your post seemed full of sarcasm. We've had a lot of troll threads like that lately so it's hard to tell anymore.
