People can play other games, but WoW and FFXIV are, if not in similar beds, in similar rooms- WoW vs AoC is quite different than WoW vs FFXIV, especially say WoW vs Dying Light or whatever. It's true one could be playing both, and enjoy both, some forum posters here have done as much, but given a content creator dedicating their time to a specific game it's relatively safe to assume that people are pushing for WoW streamers to switch entirely. This is scary, maybe not 'terrifying', in the sense that a influencers are being asked to play another content which acts as noise not for their game and rather another, even if the streamer chooses not to, it also could be not great for FFXIV if these people are making FFXIV look bad while doing it. Overall it could just be not great lol.
Yes I agree people can split time, but if a youtber who has a set schedule that normally posts specifically 90% WoW videos is being asked to switch I think it's quite likely / expected that players are asking for, and envisioning, a full stop switch over (especially in the context of these content creators who complain about WoW frequently, and more than in the past). It's some creators saying "parts of this ship are aflame" and a bunch of viewers saying "JUMP SHIP, DO IIITT". I really don't think that's the ideal PR situation you'd want for your game lol.
