So what your saying is don't provide any criticism of this game because other games are worse. No thanks.

Yeah. I don't really agree with them there. This game has flaws, some more glaring than others. I think it's fine to try to bring them to the attention of the dev team. Just because another game is worse doesn't excuse the failings of this one. In my opinion, the positives outweigh the negatives here...but I am always complaining about something almost daily. lol It's because I care though!

This game has TONS of flaws but if we're comparing the big issues what we complain about to what they are complaining about we REALLY do have it good here. The XIV devs care.Yeah. They do care about the game, yes.
Yet ultimately they're a business and have access to some of the best PR firms and tactics in the world.
One might even be inclined to suggest that there's a lack of healthy competition where the MMO market is concerned, too. That may or may not change in the future.
I think people are allowed to appreciate the game while also applying criticism to it so that it gets improved. Community criticism is what helps informs the devs what we need. I don’t play WoW but i’ve heard stories about how the community just kind of doesn’t seem to address the problems very well and the game company just doesn’t listen. SE at least seems to listen sometimes, so being loud on the forums helps get the point across on what players want. I don’t really see a lot of it as complaining from people but moreso wanting the game to improve.

you're mistaking the Devs for SquareEnix the parent company. I'm just comparing devs to devs and we got the better end of the stick by far. Go watch any wow content and all you'll get is everyone complaining about things we don't have to worry about. I'm not saying XIV is perfect.. it's not by far. But looking at the big complaints here and comparing them to WoW's... we got it good here. They do care about the game, yes.

THAT doesn't mean I'm saying don't voice your opinions. ALL I'm saying is it's easy to forget how nice you have it when you're only living in your bubble. I'm actually shocked WoW is getting away with this so bad. You'd think if it's THAT bad people would've left already. Like Asmongold is still playing yet all he does is complain about how Blizzard is fucking him in the ass.

Not sure about MMO, but MMORPG definitely. They do care about the game, yes.

People can scream "GW2", "PoE" etc all they want, but the truth is there really are only 3 MMORPGs of note in the market now. FFXIV, WoW and ESO. Everything else lacks the range, or is too focused on pleasing 3X year olds who just want to play the games they played when they were teens.

OSRS still has a rather sized community as well. Not sure about MMO, but MMORPG definitely.
