    3. You see Asmongold a lot because he keep pretending like their is a chance he will actually play when anyone who knows the guy realizes that will never happen.
    4. WoW is going through a content drought right now that makes previous ones look good. It is really bad how much they are having to redesign core systems that are just busted.
I mean I see WoW referenced in the forums a lot, but not particular streamers, until this thread and Asmon from one particular poster not from a variety. I had read their post like we're in some epidemic of WoW comments talking about streamers and youtubers and I was like "Where.. where is this?", but apparently -out there- there is totally one. So my bad if I misunderstood their intent.

Like past Bell and Asmon I'm out, I don't know any other names. Until I've seen like four different names in this thread I only knew those two anyways lol.

As a wow vet from way back in vanilla I'll be honest. Wow is in an extremely depressing state atm, and most wow players are just so used to not only mediocrity but being ignored. Something that's completely the opposite of how ffxiv is.

Tbh I don't think asmon would ever play ffxiv. But as for bellular he would probably enjoy it. Let's say he did have a negative experience. Though I doubt it would all be negative for him, its not ALL bad that he reaches a large audience. He's a pretty chill guy and is pretty rational in most of his videos, and while I don't think ffxiv needs him new content creators with established and large audiences is nothing but a good thing for ffxiv.

But considering that square ACTUALLY listens to its players feed back, along with the devs actually playing the game, I just really don't see bellular not enjoying it. Especially when u look at the train wreck that is SL 9.1. God it looks awful and the jailer is just a boring bad guy.

The issue with Belullar is that if you look at his videos and his Twitter timeline -- all I would understand is the man is more focused on WoW content than he is with FF14 because a lot of eyes come to him from that.

Other than that -- SL suffers the problem of "new villain, quick development". Jailer isnt threatening because hes essentially an unknown powerhouse that has Sylvanas tacked onto him to give legitimacy.

Actually Asmon does get flooded with requests by his fans to play the game -- you see it a lot on his streams and his twitter when he talks about the game. Its to the point of when Zach brings up FF14 -- you will have the FF14 Youtube community make videos about it blatantly telling him to play it.

Oh is that what Fawkes meant? That'd make more sense then, I was thinking specifically only these forums and I felt relatively no, even when people mention WoW I don't often see a streamer associated with the game (I mean I see WoW mentioned a lot as a measuring stick, but not so much WoW & Streamer).

Bit scary for WoW though if many top content creators are being told to go play another game lol. Although also annoying as the content creator if you're like "no I like this game, not that one, staaaph". I'm sure that could be aggravating.

Why? People can play other games and be fine. For instance, a lot of LoL streamers went to play Dying Light 2 and that doesnt necessarily mean that Lol is dying. I think you have people pressuring him and clamoring him for him to play it as streamer validation of their pasttime.

Nothing more, nothing less. Its why no one really cares if Asmongold decides to stream AoC when it comes out -- because we know hes going to try out other things he is interested in but will mainly stay with what his audience primarily enjoys (WoW).

It also probably doesnt help that FF14 streaming community is very low also - hell, FF14 rarely cracks above 10k viewers on Twitch. Heck, PinkWardLoL streams FF14 to less than 100 people when his League streams go up to 1-2k viewers.

People can play other games, but WoW and FFXIV are, if not in similar beds (FFXIV is on the right side of the bed ), in similar rooms at least- WoW vs AoC is quite different than WoW vs FFXIV, especially say WoW vs Dying Light or whatever. It's true one could be playing both, and enjoy both, some forum posters here have done as much, but given a content creator dedicating their time to a specific game it's relatively safe to assume that people are pushing for WoW streamers to switch entirely. This is scary, maybe not 'terrifying', in the sense that a influencers are being asked to play another content which acts as noise not for their game and rather another, even if the streamer chooses not to, it also could be not great for FFXIV if these people are making FFXIV look bad while doing it. Overall it could just be not great lol.

Yes I agree people can split time, but if a youtber who has a set schedule that normally posts specifically 90% WoW videos is being asked to switch I think it's quite likely / expected that players are asking for, and envisioning, a full stop switch over (especially in the context of these content creators who complain about WoW frequently, and more than in the past). It's some creators saying "parts of this ship are aflame" and a bunch of viewers saying "JUMP SHIP, DO IIITT". I really don't think that's the ideal PR situation you'd want for your game lol, and that's why I said bit scary ("bit scary", doesn't read as world ending, as I tend not to speak like that in general, but as in "not the ideal situation if you were PR management for WoW" and potentially for FFXIV if the people doing it are like "SWITCH OR YOU'RE UGLY AND I FIND YOUR CAT" . .. . . XD). Like I said though I don't spend particularly much time around the youtube comments/streamer, so I'm just assuming potential realities given the fact you suggested that it's not these forums particularly as much as it's content creators being flagged by viewers.

I don't think everything about WoW is terrible, some things are great but for me not enough of it is for me to be able to be happy in that game. I don't begrudge those who still enjoy it, I'm glad that they still do. Good for them if they find it fun! It just so happens that what I want from a mmo is long gone from WoW and it isn't going to come back. I'm glad that FFXIV opened my eyes to this because now I'm happier in this game than I have ever been in any mmo. I have my criticisms for this game but for the most part I think it's bloody amazing.

I do want WoW to improve but I think things are going to get worse before they will get better. We shall see what the future brings.
Amen to this homie. Biggest part of wow I miss isn't the game though, it's my guild. Some awesome people in there. Yet while I love them it's just not enough. I stayed in wow BFA-SL solely because I enjoyed the people but it was time to accept that the wow I loved has been long dead and it isn't coming back. Sad but true. Meanwhile ffxiv is just so damn good it's crazy. From story to characters, YOU are the pillar if this MMO. YOUR character matters. It's just so different from how wow is. God ffxiv is amazing!

I didn't even know who Belullar was until this thread, and I still had to look them up.
I feel like I spend a good deal of time on here so unless I've been missing every one of these rash of posts about them I feel like theres a bit of exaggeration going on about how much we talk about WoW content creators.
And yeah, the only other one I've caught has been Asmon and basically not at all for months.

It is like me and one other guy who tend to try and bring this forum back down to Earth on different stuff. Other MMO's and creators are very rarely mentioned. Hell even the FF14 creators barely get mentioned here which is weird because you would think everytime Husky has a new video it would be popular here or Zepla.

There was an entire FF14 Youtube series with little animated characters that was South Park levels of funny that I just found out existed. These forums are very self contained with some people talking inside of a bubble.

If this is someones first MMO I can see how it is easy to get caught in the hype that Square Enix is a bad company because they do not give people a bunny hat but sometimes people need to be reminded how bad it really can be lol

I would consider them continuing a simplification and homogenization campaign for jobs as pretty bad. I think just referring to all complaints as "bunny hat" shows that you are just being bad faith and making the criticism sound as comical/stupid as possible to try to have a point.

Its disheartening to see -- since there is actually criticism and discussions to be had. But oh well.
