Posting one's feedback and opinions isn't discouraged here. I think the biggest mistake some people make is that they expect everyone to agree with them and that is not always the case.

FF community is the strangest i seen in any MMO over the past 20 years.
There's more toxic ones like wow, but FF is just weird.
Haven't seen anything similar to the outrage about male Viera, aside from gender locked classes, but even that isn't as bad as this. Devs had to take time from their free time, to bring it to Endwalker, because of the mass hysteria. I think there was people who said they were going to cancel their sub and pre-order of ShB, if there was no male Viera.
I'd like the devs to have this mentality too. They are devs because they know what they are doing, but ppl keep complaining until devs have to give in.It may happen that people will disagree with you and you should expect that but you have to keep in mind that you aren't here to please the crowd. If you feel there is something that could be done better or that you want added to the game you should just go ahead and post it anyway.
Like,i remember at ARR launch there was this 1man instance to fight a THM summoning a vodiriga or what not, it cast poison on you, and if you don't use antidote, you die. Well it was to difficult apparently to use an antidote, so they had to nerf it until it wasn't needed.
That's why all the content and skills are so simplified. Just looking at the expansion trailers, we know they are good at what they are doing, but most ppl seem to think they know better, what's good design.
I can't Imagine it's very exciting to be dev, not being able to follow your vision and creativity, because it's bottlenecked by ppl wanting to diminish it. It's like conservatives wanting minorities to continue not having same rights, and devs having to do that, to keep subs.
Their consern should be to make a good game that attract people that like it, not to make a simplified cash cow for subs - quality will attract a lot of gamers anyway.
I see it often when someone has very strong criticism of something, there's always someone saying: then unsub, find another game, bye. What forums are you reading? Only time I see someone get told to unsub if they want to completely revamp how the entire game works. People have come onto Final Fantasy forums and suggested Square Enix just ignore the story and focus on putting out more raids. People have come here wanting to turn the entire game into a sandbox pvp MMO.
This isn't about XIV, but ppl been complaining about FF7R/XVI being action oriented, and are adamant about the soul of FF is ATB. XVI seems more like DmC, which i like, but if i talk about that with some ppl, their respons is: no! FF should be ATB, if you don't like it, go play DmC, leave FF alone! Why can't it evolve? /shrug
Here is why that's impossible honestly, when someone Criticism a part that is enjoyed by others for example I really enjoy the job quest story someone complains about it, then what I love doing is completely striped from now on just because a lot say they dislike it. just an example but an honest one...
I don't have a problem with the Criticism in itself... but I do have a problem when the maker of a game removes a part that a lot of us enjoy because some people cry/complain/criticize. When it comes to todays era of game makers expecting it to be civil isn't logical
todays game makers have zero back bone, and expect civil conversation when if 20k + vegans complained that we can eat meat in game they would remove meat.. and knowing that after I've seen similar Id have to say no don't normalize it

To be clear, this is still in the MSQ ... and the proper response is to use the antidote, which you are given as a reward in an earlier MSQ. It's the ultimate battle for you at level 14. They didn't nerf it, because people can still die if they don't pay attention.Like,i remember at ARR launch there was this 1man instance to fight a THM summoning a vodiriga or what not, it cast poison on you, and if you don't use antidote, you die. There isn't as much 'nerfing' as people like to believe. Most of that is outleveling or overgearing at this point.
Sure, but before you were guaranteed to die, at that level, now you can pass it without. I saw the fight as a tutorial to use items, because later fights might need them, but now it's not. Anywhere it's deadly, esuna don't work, and it's tied to some mechanic to get rid of it.To be clear, this is still in the MSQ ... and the proper response is to use the antidote, which you are given as a reward in an earlier MSQ. Actually, i need to go revisit that fight, as a new character![]()
Sadly the forum just like parts of reddit community contains of many white knights. "You dare to critic MY GAME? REEEEEEEEEEE" and by critic they call it hating on the game.As far as I know forums are here for feedback and expressing dissapointment and anger at the game is good enough feedback since it does indeed point out there's something wrong with X feature of the game... yet a big portion of the forums is people against people having an opinion and most responses are just unsub from the game, which I think is doing nothing for anyone. SE is good at listening to players and I think we should encourage our voices being heard instead of silenced.
