There should be other ways to obtain the Field notes.

Just make it so that players have an option to purchase the notes via coins- 50 silver bozjan coins, or 500 coins for 5 star notes. Waiting around and occasionally tagging a scorpion or lazily farming them, is not how i imagined i'd be spending my time in FFXIV quickly losing interest, but here we are.
Also, Ive dueled him going on 5 times now and i suck at it. I dont want to duel him again or have to sit for another 2 hours bc cluster farms spawn other CEs unrelated and back up this fate in the spawn queue. It's so tiring. It isn't fun. I think imma give this game a break - all this for a free mount. It's not worth it.

I am also taking my first break from the game since I started thanks to the notes' drop rate, and it feels right. You are not alone

I've done about 100 clear of "Steel and Flame" for Sartauvoir note since the last patch. I had 9 Dyunbu notes drops but none of Sartauvoir. I'm spending 8 to 10 hours a day in Southern Front only trying to spawn the fate chain for 5 min disappointment.
Yesterday, 2 instances closed after we prepped the fate. The fate was in the queue but the 2 people remaining in the instance after 150 min couldn't clear the said queue. We left.

I can't do anything else. Technically i could take a break but this has became obsessive now.

I also realised i had to bite my tongue to do not answer other player when they're saying "easy, kill the scorpion for the fate to pop" type of smart remark in shout chat when after 2 hours + and thousand of scorpion dead, the fate hasn't pop yet. And i don't like my own reaction.
