Seeking Advice on Moogle Treasure Festival 2021

    Greetings Everyone!

I'm pretty new to the game, still in the midst of leveling my first character on their first job (up to lvl.45 BLM, woohoo!), and I just learned about the Moogle Treasure Festival for this year...

All in all, the main site seems to be pretty clear on what's needed to get the currency needed for the trade-ins (tomestones of pageantry), so I think I'm good there.

However, considering that I'm only at lvl.45 on a single job, and it's a DPS job at that, AND the fact that the MTF.2021 is only going to be up until June 14th, I'm admittedly a smidge worried that I'm not going to have time to get to the necessary levels much less actually get into the content reasonably to get tombstones.

    To clarify a little:
    - I've been playing for literally 1 month as of today, so it's taken me this long to hit 45
    - Gaining levels started fast, and of course has slowed down the higher I've gotten
    - On top of that, I'm trying to do my best to practice rotations and learn dungeons / trials in advance so that I don't hinder the groups I play with (I'm coming from WoW so a bit paranoid of hurting runs)
    - I'm wary of buying a boost for any jobs since it skips all of the story advancement for the job, and that's one of the things I'm looking forward to is leveling and learning all of the jobs
    - Conversely, I may be open to the idea for a Job I likely won't play much of, like any of the melee DPS (I personally hate playing melee DPS, always prefer ranged, although ironically I love Tanking), so it may be helpful to know if any have lesser-than stories, lol

However, I'm also not looking to get a lot. I recognize the pricey items just simply aren't going to be feasible and I'm ok with that, time/opportunity being what they are. What I'm looking at is literally just 3 small items, totally 9 total tomestones, but one of the items requires completing the Orbonne Monastery Alliance Raid (which I've read is lvl.70).

So, with all of that laid out as a primer, what I'm interested in getting others' thoughts on:
    - Is it feasible to hit a minimum of lvl.70 in 2 weeks with casual gameplay?
(I work a lot during the day normally and only get 2-3hrs a night, and whatever I can scrounge up during the weekend)

    - How challenging is it to get into the lvl.70 Alliance Raids?
(I've seen mixed messages on the forums, lol)

    - And possibly most importantly, am I massively over-thinking this? AKA, do the rewards cycle around again and/or are they potentially available via other means, like actual drops during content or other vendors, etc.?
(Also mixed results when trying to find into online, although that may be due to me not yet having enough time to investigate more thoroughly)

You don't need lvl 70 to get moogle tomes.
Praetorium gives 20 tomes, and Castrum Meridianum gives 14. Both are lvl 50 content and will become available if you continue following main storyline.
Also - most of the rewards are indeed accessible via other means, Event just makes them easy to obtain. Namely, the item that requires completion of Orbonne is available in Orbonne itself.

The minion from Orbonne Monastery also drops in the raid itself, so it's not going away if you don't make it in time. You'll have to roll against the rest of the party for it, but it's still available in game. The only items that aren't available elsewhere are the Great Serpent ring and the earrings (and arguably the Scarf of Wondrous Wit; it's a recurring award from SE's occasional contests, so it's available semi-regularly, but not directly in game).

If you only need a handful of tomes for the other items you want, they drop from the level 50 raids as well. Since those are mandatory now, you should have no problem getting them. Or just from Castrum Meridianum and the Praetorium, which are also mandatory.

Ok, awesome! Sounds like I'm right on the cusp then of being able to start getting tomestones, plus the Ramza figure is at least still a drop from the raid so even if I miss it for the Festival, it's at least something I can work toward. I'm good with that.

Many thanks Angua and TheMightyMollusk, 'tis greatly appreciated!!!

I would advise trying to get all three Kamuys, because this content still requires a group and it's rarely done in Duty Finder, and "Ballroom Etiquette - Insufficient Petticoats" - this is a rare drop from content that is really not popular. "Scarf of Wondrous Wit" is generally not available in game too, and it looks nice.

Pretty much, yeah. With the exception of the 100 tomestone glamour accessory and the 1 tomestone accessories/minion, all of the other rewards can be obtained in other ways in game. The kamuy mounts drop from bosses, the equipment come from dungeons or vendors, the furniture is crafted, etc. Don't worry too much about grinding. You'll still be able to get any of the items later on through the usual methods.

Also Frontline PVP also gives Moogle tomes, I've been farming tomes on in for sometime now, it would also greatly help with leveling without pushing the story

Ooooooooh, thank you for the heads up on all of those; the scarf is one of the items I was looking at, but I completely overlooked the other items. I’ll see if I can squeeze those in!

Ha, thank you! I will admit I have a tendency over going OCD on details (I can thank my job for that, lol), so that’s super nice to know that there’s alternate routes. Makes working toward these items more “fun” than “work”, hehe

Hmmm… Thank you as well! Admittedly I’m wary of doing anything PvP related as I’ve had a loooooooot of bad experiences with it in other games. I’m not sure how it is in this game, but experiences elsewhere have resulted in me generally avoiding it. I might dip a toe in the pool though just to see how it is here.

One word of advice, if you go the PVP route: all jobs have a different set of skills in PVP content. There are training dummies on the Wolves' Den Pier you can use to familiarize yourself with it before you dive in.

Trust me I understand lol, I was thinking the same thing before I started doing PVP, but my overall experience with it so far has been people were mostly quiet, no trash talking, mostly: "We go mid" or "Fall back!!", the thing about the PVP in FF14 as far as I've noticed has been all rewards (win or lose), and lost nothing doing it, but its just something to consider just in case.

Its been a good viable way to level up alt jobs as well as far as I've noticed.
