When the new spiral staircase was announced, I was excited, I had plans to use it in one of my characters' FC room in a lovely and elegant attic apartment styled design. I got supplies and got a friend to craft the staircase for me.
However, that is where the excitement ended and the frustration began.
For more than two hours, I tried positioning the staircase so that I could use it to lead to a second, lofted partial floor. However, the staircase is too tall to be usable for that purpose. Every combination of floated furniture I could think of to try and make the staircase usable has ended in failure and frustration.
Putting the shortest and least wide furniture that I can find in game without legs that would ruin the idea of it meeting with the floor and not poking through the other end (I tried both the Oasis Stall and the Hingan Sideboard) against the staircase prevents me from ascending the stairs fully.
Even extending the Flooring Mats to an extra square and placing the Flooring Mat ever so carefully meets with complete and utter disappointment, and frustration to the point that I am not sure I'll be able to finish the room that I have already spent hours and hours planning for and building up to this point.
I was SO excited for this furnishing. I spent all these days waiting for its arrival, and SO wanted to love it for its beauty and what it would add to my FC room. But now I am beyond frustrated.
Having decorated for FC rooms, apartments, and a small house... and having friends that have decorated beautiful spaces for both medium and large houses alike... I can only imagine it being even close to usable for large houses if they're meant for anyone other than a Lalafell to be able to utilize them at all.
Please, can something be done to make this staircase usable in spaces like mine, for someone of an average to tall height? Even making another, shorter version of the stairwell... or making a version that doesn't have the outer railing would be so much better, so much more usable for people like me.
