D2012.04.23.0001 Problems

For some reason I cannot seem to download the latest patch for anything. I boot up the patcher and it looks like it's going to be all fine and dandy then I get stuck with 10 or so Local connections, 0 Remote connections an Upload Speed of anywhere from 55.7 kb/s to 300.0 kb/s and a download speed of 0.0kb/s. Needless to say it's not very much fun.

Please Help. I've tried everything I know to do including but not limited to: disabling anti-virus, restarting computer, opening ports, screaming, cursing, throwing things.

I have a feeling it is an issue with the in game client. I had the same issue so what I did was I used another torrent client to download the file instead. It should be located in C:\Users\Sprite\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV\downloads\ffxiv\48eca647. Just pick the D2012.04.23 file and open it with your torrent client of choice. Finished for me in under 50 minutes...of course now i can't connect to the lobby server

this work for anyone it only took like 15mins to dl the patch with utorent but i dont want to put it in till i know it works :P

im having the same problem....its been 2hours downloading this patch..........
The upload is always around 50/kbs to 148Kbs, but download stay at 0/kbs no matter what if i restart the game its always the same problem.

i got about 0.8% increase from restarting the client, tempted to just leave it up and go to sleep but i doubt it would update then.

Edit: yeah each time i restart it i get about 50kb download per sec so ima just keep restarting it once it goes down to 0 again.

Me and BF started our downloads early but it was taking hours to finish. Finally getting close it started to not work--so we decided to mess around with it. What we did was patch it manually, almost all MMOs can do it--so why not 14?;

1. Locate the torrent of current patch--SE amazingly gives this to you... I found mine in C:\Users\"YourUser"\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV\downloads\ffxiv\48eca647\metainfo

2. Within the folder you'll see a bunch of torrent files--just look for the most recent one--usually the one on the way bottom. It's stamped with the date, so easy enough.

3. Download it on your torrent of choice, wait for that puppy to load up (Took less then 15min for me).

4. Go to where you downloaded it(assuming you didn't download straight into where it reads the patch...thingy...) and move the "D2012.04.23.0001.patch" file into the C:\Users\"UserName"\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV\downloads\ffxiv\48eca647 folder.

5. Run FF14 and it should read it straight to 100% :\ BUT just incase--If you already started one using the patcher SE provides, there should be a file with an identical name already in that folder(it vanishes when you're patched up and loaded game.)--You can--like i did, safely move this into another folder (I used an empty folder on desktop) before putting in the complete one. So incase of any bugs-or it doesn't work-you'll still have your currently worked on progressed patch. Just remove the other and put it back in.

Hope that helps some people...Worked for me at least--Server looks kinda dead at the moment... o.O -scoots back onto 14-
