Why is the sun orange in FFXIV's space?

In the real life, the sun only appears orange, because of the way that our atmosphere affects the suns rays. These rays which are normally perceived as white light, split up into different colors. That's why when you see the sun at certain times, it is red, orange, and variations of yellow.

However, in actuality, if you were to go onto the moon, or anywhere in space, you would find that the sun is actually ALL colors, and not just one. This causes the sun to be WHITE to the naked eye. Of course, you couldn't just stare at it without ample protection, but it is still not yellow, red, or orange, contrary to what we are taught as kids. It's an extremely common misconception on earth. You see the misconception displayed in a lot of video games; including space epics such as Warframe. (The devs of that game couldn't even get the color of OUR sun right.)

So my question is.. why is the sun orange/yellowish in the trailers for Endwalker. I know the sun isn't literally the same as earth, but if it is supposed to be based around the same type of sun we have, then white might perhaps be a better color. Is this a dev oversight? Or might the sources sun have something to it that we do not know about, hence making the color that we see from the moon.

If you don't believe me, look at these sources. The sun is NOT what you think of it as. Most pictures used in education are in infrared, and are not actually the true appearance of the sun.

Um, it looked white to me in the trailer (in the scene where the WoL is first shown with the sun behind them in silhouette - the finale however is purely stylised to more represent flames though, which I took to represent the fire and brimstone of Fandaniel's 'Final Days' and all that.

Also, remember, there is a handy hint in the game's title: fantasy. Things don't have to run according to hard physics - the WoL after all is walking and breathing on the moon without any assistance, and there are monsters on the moon and a false god imprisioned within said moon. Don't take things too seriously.

An old saying I heard which sums up nicely the difference between science-fiction and fantasy (FF naturally being more the later with a slight blending of the former): science-fiction makes the improbable possible, fantasy however makes the impossible probable. Which is a really good way of looking at it.

The same reason I'm running around with a gunblade tanking ferocious bosses as a beautiful cat girl who who can also teleport around the world and summon mounts from thin air. Just enjoy the trailers.

Yoshi-P already said that there’s an atmosphere and heavier gravity on the moon and we’ll find out why later.

It's the bloodmoon clearly. After it appears all your quests will reset.

It wouldn't surprise me if they mirror the Lunatic Pandora from FF8 which when it was activated and used what it referred to as the Lunar Cry whole swaths of monsters emerged from the moon and descended down to the planet.

Would be neat if that was replicated in XIV.
