Yo I feel the same way. I ended up doing all of the quests in The Churning Mists trying to unlock them, only to have to look it up afterwards and see part of the quest chain is in Ishgard. I wish they made it more clear. This is an issue I've come across as a newer player to the game.
Previously, I knew to pick up blue-background quests for additional unlocks during the post-game for any level of content. Additionally, sometimes there would be OTHER additional unlock quests or "secret unlocks" that didn't have a blue quest icon, but instead had an image on the questline when you went to pick it up.
A prime example of what I'm experiencing for this as an issue is the Moogle Beast Tribe...how the heck do you know what the next quest to pick up would be without a quest progression guide?
Don't get me wrong, those are extremely helpful. I am so appreciative of my friends and the community guiding me through this content, but I think it would be insurmountably beneficial to any player to allow a post-quest hint at the next quest. Or a completion comment of "resume this questline by accepting -x-". Or even just...making these quests blue, since they are still additional content.
For context, I have only owned/played this game for maybe less than 3 months, and I'm in post-shadowbringers right now. I have over 700 hours logged so far (probably because I spend so much time running around lost trying to find the next-in-quest-line!) A part of this may be because I'm still just relatively new to this game. Any advice from seasoned players for figuring these sorts of issues out without googling every other thing that occurs w/o a clear quest follow-up...?
