Launcher Error on PC - "Unable to complete version check"

I've been playing the game for over a year now without any issues, but today, suddenly, I found that I could not log in, as the launcher would show the following error:

Unable to complete version check. [30605][20447][20526]

and then close. I've tried various fixes from other users online and even reinstalled the game, but nothing seems to be working. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Happens to me all the time. It’s an internet issue (not saying your internet is turned off or disconnected or anything, just that that’s what it seems to be connected to.) If youre not connected to a router, try to connect to one. If so, unplug it and plug it back in after 10 seconds, or check your ethernet cable to see if theres any visible damage to it.

I tried all those things, but nothing worked. However, I tried using a VPN service, and it somehow fixed the problem. However, I cannot purchase a full VPN subscription, so it's not a permanent fix.

So is the problem with my ISP/internet connection?

Do you happen to be using comcast or a service that routes partially through comcast’s network?

I live in India and connect to the Elemental DC, so definitely not.

So it’s probably an ISP issue but not connected to the issue that cropped up about a two(?) months ago. Was just curious ahah.

Thanks for the clarification though! As I said, it probably *is* an ISP issue, especially if it fixed itself with a VPN. Another fix you can try that might be a little more permanent is to go here: https://1.1.1.1/ and install

It’s a DNS that routes your internet differently. Let me know if that helps! (I use it, so rest assured it’s free of viruses and malware ^-^)

Im so glad it helped! I was having some connectivity issues myself a few months back and that helped, so whenever I can I tell people either a VPN or use cloudflare’s DNS

Unfortunately, the Cloudflare DNS did not work for me, but I found that enabling my antivirus VPN for a moment just while opening the launcher and then turning it off immediately after the launcher opens works. Then I can use my gaming VPN for the game itself.

I'll see if there's any other solution, but that'll do for now. Thanks for all your help

Hi, I'm from India too and I just wanted to say that I've been having the exact same problem too with the same error code all day. My Internet seems to be doing fine too i'm able to connect to everything else normally

Unable to complete version check. [30605][20447][20526] is what i keep getting whenever i try to turn on the launcher

But so far have been unable to find a fix, tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game however the launcher still gives me the same error when I am trying to re install the game and so I cant even re download the game anymore

Out of curiosity what was the vpn that you used that fixed the problem? I might try it out. Thanks in advance for the help ^^

(P.S. I already tried out cloudflare’s DNS and it didn't work for me sadly)
