There is nothing wrong with being bad. I was bad as well when I picked up the blm role. But taking the time to check what I am doing wrong gave me the opportunity to learn how to cast four flares in succession. It's always awesome, I love it and I am ever looking to do it again when I play blm. It feels powerful because of the screen shaking. It's super satisfying. I also contribute with DPS by a lot instead of getting carried.

DPS loss or not, it has a actual use and a solid place in a working rotation. I dont care if my not so optimal rotation makes you stay 0.05seconds longer in Dungeons or Raids, as long as it gets results, it works for me.

I mean do what you want to do, but it doesn't have a solid place. If it is actively doing less DPS then it isn't solid lol.

The point of this thread is Fire II needs to be reworked so it ISN'T a DPS loss to use

My impression from this thread is that you guys aren't really black mages. You're all really Calculators masquerading as black mages.

While Black Mages don't have their nose in the books 24/7 like Summoner and Scholar does, we are still high educated and often in the
library als well. We speak fluent enochian at the least.

You can't just throw out some spells at random. Magic is science!

Mages, in general, are always associated with knowledge and knowing which of your spells deal the highest amount of damage is the first step you ought to take as a black mage. We want to destroy stuff after all.

I had no idea Fire 2 was this bad all this time. I dont play BLM thankfully but wow this was informative. There are so many abilities in this game that seem useful but are traps to lead people to poor performance. I feel like every class should be shaped to lead you to optimal play. All these Free Cure Procs in different class flavors have got to go.

Edit: I remember when Fire 2 was 200 potency. That was a long time ago folks.
