when reporting, about how long to wait before gm response (if at all)?

Reported someone about half an hour ago for harassment in Ravanna trial over how I was playing SMN. He had a fit, swore at me, called me trash, told everyone I was griefing, etc, kept that up the whole time all because I had titan out for a hot minute after we wiped. Just to mitigate a bit of damage for our healers, at least one of whom was new and was having trouble keeping up. Yes, I understand, titan doesn't do optimal DPS output. But its not like I was sitting there autoing or parking in AOEs, nor did I have titan out the whole time. Also he's good for aoe damage with mountain buster so he's good for mobs leave titan alone pls he's just a chicken nugget.

tl;dr sry bout the rant, just wondering if I should sit here and wait for a message or just go about my day as I planned.

You'll just get a copy and paste once they receive your report. They won't directly tell you what action they take.

The only thing in those tells from GMs are them confirming the information you provided in your report, or if there is any additional information that you wish to provide. They then just thank you for your time, and poof on out of your tells.

Oh, no they most definitely act on these kind of reports. That other player will likely take a ban for this. Especially if they used strong language.

Really? Huh. I was crossing my fingers that they at least got a warning. Have never experienced being singled out in the game like that before. I couldn't even respond back I was so shocked. It was really mean-spirited, and yes, there was a great deal of strong language.

They wont tell you about it for obvious privacy reasons, but they'll still act on the report.

The three times I've recently reported someone for being abusive I was contacted within 10 minutes by a GM asking to talk for a little bit to clarify. They asked to clarify the who/what/when/wheres (little weird, cause I put those in the report) and then said thank you and good day.
I'm relatively sure even if I'd have logged off everything would have been fine since I put detailed info and chat logs into the reports. Two of those three times they messaged me in the middle of my next duty and then when I said I was busy in an instance told me to message them once I had left the duty which ended up being about 14-16 minutes later.


Long story short: Just keep playing or leave if you have to it doesn't matter a whole lot. If they need your input they'll ask for it and patiently wait for a response.

they may get just a warning, or if the language was strong enough (they can check the logs from the time that you provide) it could go to a suspension. if it's not their first time getting reprimanded it may be worse. if it's their last chance they'll get banned.

you as the reporter though will never know what happens for privacy reasons. likewise the person that you reported will never find out that it was you that reported them for the same reason.
